Let me start out by saying the pizza is 5 stars. The Elvis decor is plentiful. It's a cool place. For 3 years, Ingleside has been my go-to pizza place and I've recommended it countless times.
Why 3 stars then? Well, customer service. Typically, IVP doesn't take reservations. Because Mercer University, Mercer Law, and Wesleyan all graduated on the same day, I called a couple days prior to see if the chance of an influx of graduates changed the "no reservation" policy.
I was told that they WOULD be taking reservations on graduation day. My reservation for 8 was supposedly fine. The lady I talked to even stepped away from the phone to double check the availability of my reservation time. All was well.
Graduation day arrives and my group (now only 6) shows up about 15 minutes early. I let the man at the counter know that the 1:30 reservation had arrived a bit early. He told me that IVF doesn't take reservations and that he had no idea who'd told me that. He then said that IVF was first-come-first-serve and that he didn't think my large group could be accommodated. He said all this while looking at something above the counter, asking another employee something out of my earshot, and being generally annoyed. Basically, I just stared at him, not knowing how to respond.
I understand that IVF gets busy, especially during special occasions in Macon. That's why I was proactive and made the reservation.
I also know that reservations weren't typical IVF policy. Yet, someone made my reservation. And that same someone supposedly double checked it with yet another employee.
I appreciate the counter guy making room for me and my 5 guests, but the situation could have been handled more professionally. I'm sorry if he was just having a crappy day, but nothing puts a damper on graduation day quite like dragging family to a supposedly awesome restaurant then being treated like a total...

Visiting the Forsyth area, I was planning on visiting a couple of spots that embodies the essence of South Georgia- on a modest budget of course. As a disclaimer, I am not an Italian/pizza person so please take this into consideration.
Firstly, the location is on the corner of the intersection, so I begin to think of parking, which is limited; however, there are other businesses nearby you can probably freely situate yourself in. Leaving the premise would have probably been trickier if there was more traffic. I visited when it first opened, which is 11AM. Mind you, there were a few others waiting for it to open. That in itself, gave me an indication this was a local, good-eating eatery.
Entering, it gave me a comforting vibe and very laid-back. The lunch special was 2 slices of pizza with a side salad for roughly 9 dollars. In hindsight, I would have probably ordered that, but I wanted to see what a whole pizza looked like. I ordered the Veggie Village, minus the green olives. The wait for take-out was agreeable and the staff was friendly. While waiting, the staff was talking to a patron who stated the Ultimate Village is typically the most ordered.
My take-out pizza smelled good and I drove an hour and a half roughly back to my residence, so excuse the lack of steam ooey-gooeyness of the picture attached to this review. I ordered the medium size no additional toppings- it totaled to be roughly 19 dollars, with tip. They charge less than a dollar for take-out.
I would like to point out the toppings are greatly portioned. The pizza crust had some burnt parts, which points to me it is freshly made.
Would I recommend pizza eaters to visit this establishment? Yes. If you are by yourself, maybe opt for the lunch special 2...
Read moreSloppy bread sticks - were disappointing, there were several pieces of bread with no seasoning at all and the bread and seasoning itself were strangely tasteless. The highlight was the fantastic pizza sauce that came with them - first time I have ever liked tomato pizza sauce. IMO, save your $2 for sloppy and spend a quarter for extra pizza sauce.
Pizza - large cheese and double pineapple (It was ordered for me, not by me, I would have done it the other way around) Toppings were very generous and I did consider it double pineapple. Same tasty sauce. Cheese was plentiful but again somehow bland. Crust was hand tossed and crispy, cooked perfectly, yet also sort of bland.
Soft drinks are self serve Coke products or iced tea.
Service was great, friendly and attentive. The wait time was reasonable since we got there when it opened at 11:00 on Wednesday. Prices are reasonable for pizzas.
Atmosphere is funky pizza restaurant vibe with mixed light fixtures, local and donated stickers, photos, neon signs, and pizza memories. It has concrete floors with wooden benches, metal tables and chairs so the noise level is high.
Parking is a few spaces in front and on the side of the building with a fenced lot in back. Back lot is decorated with tricycles, chairs, and pizza screens
Overall, if I come again, I'll get regular bread sticks, extra pizza sauce, a pineapple and green pepper pie, and bring some Penzey's Justice and pizza seasonings. It's worth coming again, but out of the way for me. Pizza would be fantastic for kids who don't like spice.
I must say that I share the owner's history with Domino's Pizza and think she made fantastic strides over their sauce!! I was just a bit sad the dough wasn't more flavorful because it is...
