Romo's Pizza — Restaurant in Macon

Upon entering, I was approached by the bartender who asked if I was there for a pickup. I responded yes and politely showed her the name on the order. From that moment, she responded with sarcasm and rudeness, despite me not saying anything inappropriate or disrespectful initially. I simply corrected my pronunciation of the name and continued to wait patiently.

Approximately six or 7 minutes later, she brought out an order but stated it wasn’t mine and that mine was still being prepared. I continued to wait, and after another few minutes, I politely asked a nearby server if they knew how much longer the order might take. Before I could finish my sentence, the bartender interrupted rudely, stating: “Like I told you, it’ll be ready. I need to finish what I’m doing at the bar,” despite the fact that she was not actively assisting a customer but rather cleaning.

I calmly responded that I had asked the other server because she appeared busy, but she continued to raise her voice, accusing me of being disrespectful — which I was not. I reiterated to the server that I was simply asking a question, but instead of resolving the situation, the staff seemed to immediately take the bartender’s/managers side without hearing me out.

I left feeling deeply disrespected, embarrassed, and unwelcome. I’m saddened and hurt by the way I was treated, and I cannot help but feel that this interaction may have been influenced by racial profiling or discrimination. As someone simply trying to do their job as a DoorDash delivery driver, I should not be made to feel like an unwelcome problem for politely asking about the status of an order.

This type of behavior is unacceptable for any customer or delivery driver to experience. I will not support or recommend your establishment moving forward, and I urge you to address this internally so that future guests are treated with the dignity and respect they deserve — regardless of their background or role. Do better. And your update is still an improper way to address the rudeness and discrimination of...

Easily the best pizza in all of Middle Georgia and Macon! The unique oven gives the crust a perfect char and the texture and flavor is fantastic... what really stands out is the fresh tomato sauce. It's phenomenal. My family is from Campania Italy, and I was born and raised in New York state... every year we made fresh tomato sauce, and I haven't tasted anything like it since I left over 11 years ago. Their tomato sauce is exactly like the kind my family made. It's not every day you find food that gives you an authentic feeling of home. We had the margherita pizza and the mushroom pizza, the specialty ravioli, antipasto platter and the wedge salad. Everything was fantastic, well plated and balanced. The ravioli is house made, and was cooked, stuffed, and seasoned perfectly. The ambiance is casual and family friendly, but also very romantic and intimate... and the menu structure reflects this. Offerings of traditional appetizers, salads, pastas and pizzas and nightly specials. Good beer and wine selection too. It's a true gem in Macon, and a must visit. Go see for yourself. We'll be...

Been wanting to come here for a long time but they don't open til 4pm during the week. We finally had a chance to check it out on a Friday at 5pm.

Firstly the food is delicious. We had the special sausage egg roll with Calabrian ranch, the Scotty hamburger pizza, and a pomodoro pasta special.

Getting here early is key if you want a date night, because around 6pm the families with kids start coming in, and if you're seated by the games in the back, you'll be surrounded by kids getting change for quarters. At one point I counted 8 kids between the ages of what looked like 5 and 10 with no adults in sight.

Our server was new and was a sweet as she could be, but did not know how to pour a draft beer, so twice I got shorted with a head full of foam that gave me half a glass, before I started ordering bottled beer.

Service was slow but for a Friday not unexpected. We were there for 2 hours total for an appetizer, pizza, and entree.

I'm glad we finally got to try the place but we'll leave it to the younger set with kids in the future, unless they start opening...
