Man when I tell yall this place is off rhe chain folks when it comes to food & service. I was blessed to meet the owner lady who was so so sweet & nice. I was blessed with the pleasure of being greeted & helped by Keynia who came out to the menu board to explain & assist me n making a great choice of items. I told her upon entering I was a Hungry Trucker from Big Dallas, Tx. She assured me I made a great choice by coming to "Saleems" & I would b happy n whatever I decided on. I must say, she was correct folks. The catfish sandwich, the slaw, the fries and the Talipia plate was cooked upon order and brought to me steaming hot and fresh. And the Red velvet cake was so damn moist & good until it wasn't funny. And then to have their Specialty homemade Lemonade 🍋 to wash it all down, was priceless folks. As a Trucker I make it my business to go to small mom & pop restaurant bcuz u normally get a better one on one service from people bcuz they know their business depends on it unlike the large businesses. Well I had my great time here with each & every person I encountered even the cook who told me my Truck was gonna get Towed. Lmbo.. He played a prank on me & we couldn't stop laughing about that. Lol.. I got to meet other longtime customers, family members of the owners & friends of theirs who were there to get their share of good tasting food too. Hell I felt as if I was a family member of theirs like the other folks. This was definitely one heck of a great, great experience with this business and I'll definitely be back whenever I'm in this area folks. And I'll tell other truckers where to stop to get some great Hot fresh food & to experience such great, great service from y'all. Too bad yall don't have ample parking for Big Trucks is my only gripe. But as yall seen, I put this big joker out front on yall lot like it was a car. Lol.. Much love to each of U I had the pleasure to talk too. And Thanks to my guy Mr. Kool-aid the Trucker I talked too there. U guys are off the chain & I can see why yall have been n business for 48 years now. Keep up the great work guys. Sincerely, Big Dave aka Krazy-Man 815, The Trucker from Big Dallas texas. Peace...
Read moreSUPPORT OUR BLACK-OWNED BUSINESSES! I went to Saleem's for the first time yesterday while traveling w/friends who had learned about this restaurant by good old-fashioned word-of-mouth. Well, I truly 💞LOVED it & I am forever stuck on this place! 😄 We decided together at that table, that we'll ALWAYS come here to eat whenever we travel to Atlanta & Macon!💓💓
Being a seafood fanatic, I was amazed by their EXCELLENT menu & great prices. Whiting, Flounder, Red Snapper, etc, etc, plus Shrimp, Okra, Fries, Onion Rings, Bean Pie, Cake, down-home quality Lemonade & Tea, and sooo much more--that Menu was delightfully HUGE & their Seafood Sauce was to die for! Finger-licking good!😍😘😍
I ordered a 2-pc Whiting Dinner with onion rings, coleslaw, bread & sauce. They brought me two of the largest & healthiest-looking, bright-white Whiting, that I'd ever seen in a long time (Halal food is the BEST--I tell ya)! And with each bite was a delicious coating that I could actually taste the individual spices (I'd almost kill for that coating recipe)!! 😍😊 Again, finger-licking good!! 😚
And I got two meals out of my dinner, a great value for the price!
So, my fellow Brothers & Sister's, y'all gotta stop by Saleem's in your travels--whether you're going local, statewide, or beyond. You're tastebuds & tummy will surely thank you!...
Read moreI've been going to Saleem's for years but over the last few months, their service and food quality has spiraled. I'll usually visit on Fridays but noticed that their prices have gone up, yet you're getting less food. When I got my 2 dinners, the fish was cold, only a few fries were given and the cole slaw taste old...NOT WORTH THE NEW PRICE of $8; I use to get more when the price was $6 a plate. Not to mention, there was a annoying high school aged girl working as cashier that was begging customers for tips. Her on the job soliciting made your establishment look desperate! She has yet to learn that tips are earned. I thought I was a customer for life, but that has changed. A few family members who use to visit Saleem's regularly also shared the same experiences and wont be returning either. We have since visited the Fish House on Napier...well worth the $ and you get fresh food. The community has supported Saleem's for years, so to serve less quality food and increase the prices that you know yourself is not worth the money is...
