We greatly enjoyed spending the weekend at the Hilton Garden Inn/Mercer University in order to attend the Bat Mitzvah of family friends at a nearby synagogue with a 1.7 mile/37 minute walk. This hotel is beautiful, clean, comfortable, conveniently located with free parking, situated on the edge of the beautiful and charming Mercer University campus, and the hotel staff was very cheerful, professional and helpful in every way. Mr. Carlos Robinson at the front desk was especially friendly and very helpful making sure we were able to have a Shabbat friendly stay. Kenya at the hotel restaurant and bar was also welcoming, and all the other staff were warm, professional and helpful. It's a beautiful place and they have a great team of people there.

Our walks to and from the local synagogue Friday evening and Saturday morning and afternoon was beautiful. The hotel is located on Stadium drive and it is just a 12 minute/.5 mile walk up the tree lined Stadium Drive to Mercer Village with Z Beans Cafe and neighborhood restaurants and shops. Beautiful and historic Tatnall Square Park is located just past Mercer Village between Adams and College Streets, and across the street from Mercer University. The gorgeous fountain in the center of the park is a definite must-see. If you walk about ten minutes down College Street (away from Mercer University and Tatnall Square Park) and turn right on Hardeman Avenue toward downtown you will also see some lovely shops and the famous H&H Restaurant the traditional southern food restaurant where the Allman Brothers Band frequently ate. I highly recommend stopping in to enjoy Bear's Books shop, Rabbit Hole art & gifts shop, and H&H Restaurant to see all of the music memorabilia there and the BEAUTIFUL Allman Brothers/H&H mural on the entire outside of H&H where there is free parking for patrons. The Douglass Theatre in downtown Macon is also a gorgeous, historic theatre with lots of interesting films and other events on their calendar.

Macon, GA has so much music history, interesting architecture and a very walkable downtown full of beautiful shops, brew pubs and restaurants. If you have time visit Ocmulgee Mounds & Museum for free and save a moment to savor a sunset view of downtown Macon with a glass of wine/beer on Hotel 45's rooftop bar located on the corner of Cotton Avenue and First Street. The Hilton Garden Inn/Mercer University is a great and affordable place to stay anytime you want to treat yourself and your family and friends to a weekend...

The Hilton Garden inn in Macon Georgia is situated in the Mercer Univeristy campus. Our window had panoramic views on the road and this beautiful old evergreen. After a long day of driving we enjoyed a fruity cocktail and appetizer and a big bowl of colorful salad. A beautiful way to close the day. 1220 Stadium Dr, Macon, GA 31204 #Hilton #GardenInn #Macon #GA #Georgia #MercerUniversity #Travel #Blogger #Foodie #RoomWithAView

I’ll start by saying the staff was very nice in the restaurant, the front desk, and maintenance were very nice; however, the hotel is nasty 🤮 I stayed a couple of nights for a business trip and was horrified at the state of the rooms. Please be cautious and bring your own bleach because it is not the best accommodation… WhenI first got there, the room seemed fine but when I went to the restroom I saw something that looked similar to blood near the shower. I tried to take a shower but there was hair all over the walls. The front desk moved me to another room in the same floor. The second room was even worse. There was something brown and crusty on the door frame of the bathroom. It made my skin crawl and the maintenance man saw it and said the person cleaning the room was eating chocolate cake and got some on the door 🤣🤣 like bro, why would someone be cleaning a bathroom while eating chocolate cake specifically?!? This shower was a bit cleaner, but there was hair stuck to the crusty community soap/conditioner dispenser. I tried to River the hair off, but it was dried on indicating that it was probably there for a while. It’s appalling that after Covid a hotel would be using soap dispensers instead of sanitary one time use products. It really felt more like a public bathroom at the old community pool than a Hilton hotel room… I have stayed in Hilton hotels in a few places and I honestly was disappointed with the quality that I wanted to just leave and go home. If this wasn’t a business trip I would’ve absolutely left asap…. It is conveniently located because it was only like 10 minutes away from Dollar Tree— so stop there for some disinfectant first!
