I recently dined at Swing Line Restaurant and wanted to share my thoughts on the experience. Overall, I had a satisfying meal, but there were a few aspects that left me with mixed feelings.
Let's start with the positive aspects. The food at Swing Line Restaurant was undeniably delicious. I had the pleasure of trying their burger and fries, and they were nothing short of amazing. The burger was perfectly cooked to my preferred level of doneness, juicy, and full of flavor. The fries were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside – just the way I like them. In terms of taste and quality, I have no complaints whatsoever.
However, it's essential to mention that my dining experience was marred by some issues with the service. The most noticeable problem was that the restaurant appeared to be short-staffed. It took quite a while for a server to take our order, and we noticed that the staff seemed rushed and overwhelmed. This led to a delay in receiving our food, which was a bit frustrating.
Furthermore, throughout the meal, the service continued to be lacking. Our server was friendly but seemed stretched thin, making it challenging to get their attention when we needed something, such as refills or additional condiments. Additionally, there was a lack of communication about the status of our order, leaving us wondering when our food would arrive.
Despite the service issues, I must emphasize that the quality of the food at Swing Line Restaurant was excellent. If you're primarily looking for a tasty meal, I would recommend giving this place a try. However, be prepared for the possibility of slower service during busy times, as it seems that the restaurant could benefit from additional staff to ensure a more seamless dining experience. With a bit of improvement in the service department, Swing Line Restaurant could easily become a top-notch dining...
Read moreHave been to SwingLine a few times now. Went today for lunch. Took a hot minute to get anyone to come over initially but after that, service was great. Not sure if there was a shift change or they didn't know about us, but like I said, we had great service after that.
We started with the eggrolls - they were pretty good, and I would get those again. I had the bison burger but got the bourbon bacon jam on the side (it's pretty sweet but good), and my friend had the steak burger. We both got fries. If you get any sandwich, make sure you add the crispy onion straws on the side - they are yummy (and people, they are free)! I just dipped them in some sauce and ate them straight up. Really liked the onion aioli and ale mustard - used them on my burger and to dip fries. And unlike some places, SwingLine doesn't charge you .25 or .50 for EVERY dang sauce or topping you add! They also have a decent wine selection, and I was happy to see Grüner Veltliner on the menu!
Overall, I have always had good experiences at SwingLine. It's a cute neighborhood bar/restaurant and definitely worth checking out. If you aren't wanting food, then they have the rooftop bar, as they don't serve food up there.
Before I wrote this, I looked at some other comments. I personally don't think the prices are too high compared to what you get or compared to other comparable restaurants. Yes, my bison burger was $19, but that's kind of what I would have expected - the regular burger was $15. Salads without protein were $10. Sides were $4. And it was plenty of food with the fries. Those don't seem like crazy prices to me. I actually told my friend I thought it was inexpensive before we went as she had never been, so I guess it all depends on the person. Definitely worth...
Read moreWe've been looking forward to trying SwingLine Grill and finally had the opportunity tonight. As a vegan, I was really excited. SwingLine advertises having a vegan only grill, providing vegan options and are willing to make adjustments to menu items. Our server, Brandon, suggested the bowls being popular so I opted for the Greek Bowl minus the feta cheese. The dish was totally devoid of the roasted tomatoes promised in the description. The quinoa was very bland with a few sliced cucumbers and pita bread on the side which I enjoyed with the hummus. Brandon said that he submitted the order as "vegan" but I'm not sure if the tzatziki sauce was made with non-dairy yogurt or not. I didn't ask but chose not to eat it. Brandon was great. When I asked about the lack of roasted tomatoes, he went to the kitchen and brought me back a small bowl of roasted peppers to add to my quinoa. Everyone else in my group was pleased with their meals...just wish I could say the same. 4 stars for them, 1 star for me, adding up to a somewhat...
