Clara's Pizza — Restaurant in Madison Township

Called in order on a friday at 11:30 am Time requested 2:00 pm

15 inch pizza Side 1: ex ch, pepperoni, mush, ban peppers on the side.

Side 2: ex ch, ham, bacon, pineapple.

Arrived at 1:53 pm pizza was coming out of the oven.

Store and shop very clean.

Very quick and friendly service, nobody in line.

Square cut standard.

Order was very hot and accurate.

Crust was a thinner hand tossed style, a little dence, and was crunchy while nicely golden brown on the bottom. Perfection from a brick oven. Dough lacked a rich flavor, but the golden brown flavor from the oven did come through.

Sauce was not to my liking. Lacked spice. Had an off sweet tart flavor. Did not go well with pepperoni side, but faired better with ham and pineapple side.

Cheese was very good and perfect amount.

All other toppings were very good and plenty of them. Not like some places that go by, if you can see it it's on there. Would have liked a sliced type ham instead of the small diced. The mushrooms had very good flavor and the pepperoni seemed to be of a higher quality. A little firm, spiced well...

I ordered lunch here today for pickup. They have an online deal that I took advantage of, a large one topping pizza for $13.99. I also grabbed a pair of Grippo's chips while I was there.

This is a good value. I'll probably get four meals out of this pizza. Although I've read comments stating this is New York style pizza, I'm not so sure. The crust seems to be thicker and crunchier, it's also cut into squares. None of that seems like New York style to me.

That being said, the pizza is good. I don't like the sauce, but that doesn't mean it isn't good. It's just not for me. I really like the crust though. Has a cracker crunch to it that I love.

The fact they have Grippo's chips is a big win. They are hard to find in Mansfield.

Will I be back? Maybe on occasion. But this wouldn't make it into my regular rotation.

So I haven't had Clara's pizza in years because I didnt like them so I thought maybe they changed and they had a good deal. It was the worst pizza we ever has. My son who will eat anything said it was beyond gross. They claim to have it loaded with toppings but you will never agree .It was a very thin pizza with some cheese and scant toppings. It was the pizza that you get out of the box is first thing that comes to mind. Chefboyardee. And if you order mushrooms you get a whole whopping 7 for 4.00 dollars. We will never go back. I wouldn't recommend this...
