Local Cantina Canal Winchester — Restaurant in Madison Township

Eat here once a month or every other month, food is consistent and always good. Tonight the service was a different story. It's a 75° day, so my friend and I found a spot on the patio to eat dinner. We were the only ones on the patio at the time and ordered drinks, queso, and then our food. A man with a loudspeaker in his backpack, walked around the outside patio, then went in and ordered a single shot. Came outside to the patio directly adjacent to us with the speaker blaring still. Our waitress even gave us a funny look about how loud this man's music was. After not being able to even hear ourselves, think, I went inside to ask if a manager could ask him to turn down the music. Amber, the manager comes out to our table and said she heard there was a problem with one of their regulars. I said, all we're asking is for his music to be turned down. Offered to move us around a different side of the patio, and I commented that as paying customers, I didn't understand why we needed to move, and why they could not just ask him to turn down the music. Again, I was told he is a regular. In the amount of time that we spent $55 on food and drinks, this man ordered two shots. No food. Just incredibly disappointed in the way that we were treated as paying customers versus someone they said is a regular. Also, not sure what the open container law is in Canal Winchester, but the waitress ended up telling us that he wasn't even on their property despite the fact that the bench is directly outside of their restaurant. Then we watched the man pour the rest of his shot into a plastic cup...

Not impressed. Busy Friday night, never got greeted. Eventually I just started wandering around until I could flag down a server and ask where to pick up my takeout. The bar. The wonderful bar, center piece of the establishment, completely packed with no way to approach or get a bartender's attention unless you rudely want to reach over someone. Finally, I just went around the back wall and waited till a bartender walked by and flagged them down. Nobody was rude, far from, but very disorganized operation for sure.

The food was also less than impressive. One of the 3 tacos we ordered was an Avocado BLT, with no tomato. Apparently this means no avocdo too, because we got a single strip of bacon and some shredded lettuce in a flour tortilla. With a micro dot of sauce at on end. For $4. It was thick cut bacon though, that single strip. The other 2 tacos were not impressive either. My online order said 20 minutes. I arrived in 15 minutes. My tacos tasted 15 hours old. The ingredients were sparse and just overall lackluster. At a price point of $4 to $5 a taco I expect a little better.

We come every once in a great while and food is pretty consistently good. But this is definitely a spot for regulars. Today my husband and I sat at the bar. Ordered an appetizer, food, and then I ordered a Coke. Appetizer came out, then food came out, but still no drink. Our waitress was too busy speaking with one of their regulars the whole time passing us by and by, still not getting the Coke I ordered or even paying mind to us. She wasnt even the one who gave us any of our food. I finally waited until she served everyone around us their drinks and then called her over. I had to call her over about 3-4 times, and she was literally standing in front of us! The regular actually even pinted over that I was trying to get her attention and she still didn't come over right away. Finally got my Coke. Given, we were never checked on to see how our food was or if we needed anything until maybe 10-15 minutes after I finally got my drink. This is a consistent issue at this location. If you're not a regular, don't expect great or even good service. Very...
