Let’s start with the positive.
The truffle fries were very good.
Great flavor. I did make a reservation b/c I
figured that they will be busy. I arrived
20 min early and the female host with
dark wavy hair past her shoulders sat me.
The tall multiracial eccentric looking
gentleman, just seemed confused. Very
confused. I was slightly frustrated with
him, b/c he seemed so lost about his job
but the woman who sat us helped him out.
Thank God for her.
When we were sat, we waited for at least
10 min, we weren’t acknowledged by our
waitress with the beautifully red curly hair.
She was nice. But if I were to ever come
back I would never want to be waited on by
her again. We had to ask for refills of water
after I seen her look at our empty cups and
keep walking.
When I asked for straws she did bring them
in napkins but she placed them on the
table so fast they rolled out onto the table.
The chicken and waffles ..
The waffles taste like they were frozen and warmed up. They didn’t taste like they were freshly made - they were hard. The chicken, wasn’t that bad, the color of the batter was off it looked very light .. oddly light but the flavor was ok. Needed more seasoning. The syrup was thinly placed on there. I wish the waitress would have asked,”do you need more syrup”?
The Sirloin Hash… It was ok, it definitely needed tomato salsa or a light pico de gallo for people who don’t like a “runny egg” or a sunny egg. I asked her could they cook the egg a little longer - I just didn’t want it runny and it came back hard . A little more meat wouldn’t hurt either.
At the end, she took at least 10 min to bring my change for the bill.
I’m like what is going on!?
The ambiance, the cleanliness, the polite female host, the truffle fries, barely brought my experience to 3 stars but here we are...
Read moreBy far one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. We were a walk in that turned into a reservation that left for a neighborhood walk to only return, check in, and stand for another 20 minutes until we checked in a 2nd time where the hostess stated, “oh yeah, we can seat you right away.” Meanwhile a clutch of employees chatted away at the front hostess stand - leaving 2 empty dirty tables stand. Honestly, when I bused tables 35 years ago we moved in so we could flip the table. This place does not seem to be in the need to turn a table.
We were then seated to sit for another 12 minutes before a waitress came over informing us that the hostess never informed them that they had another table. Our table made her 8th table and she apologized.
The breakfast burrito was under the warming lamp for quite awhile as the exposed sides were “dry” in appearance. The taste was okay.
The house burger was ordered medium but was fried to exhaustion.
Our salmon salad had a piece of salmon about 2x2 in size with greens to sub for the quinoa. The greens were gritty and tasted a bit like “dirt”. We did let the waitress know and the manager did comp this dish.
Overall the food was subpar and clearly the staff on site need assistance to understand what tasks are priority and which can wait etc.
The plus was the cute atmosphere. However, the bench seating is rather hard and does not allow for great support.
I would have expected more from the food fighters group based on our experiences at their...
Read moreI’ve heard good things about Everly, but they blew our experience out of the park. Not only is the food fantastic, the service was out of this world. We had the privilege of being helped by Eja that day and she was so friendly and more than willing to help when we were so indecisive about what to get. She was honest and gave good suggestions. She was so happy and friendly and willing to put up with our nonsense. In addition, the food is incredible. I got the biscuits and gravy. I don’t eat pork so it’s rare that it’s an option for me but this was a chicken gravy and it was amazing. The biscuits were delicious on their own, so the eggs and gravy just elevated it. The potatoes were incredible! We got the house aioli added to dunk the potatoes in and I highly recommend doing that to anyone reading this. My friend got the veggie scramble and she doesn’t typically like tomatoes in her eggs but went out on a limb and listened to Ejas suggestion and she’s thrilled she did. She loved it and we were just about licking our plates by the end. Not pictured, I ordered the French toast to go for my husband at home, and rated it as second best in Madison. I think that’ll spike up to best in Madison once he has it fresh rather than take out that had to sit in my car for a half hour while I drove home. Will be returning and telling everyone about this wonderful gem of...
