People with allergies beware! If you are ordering online and have an allergy and note it on the order they WILL NOT honor that request.
We have a sesame seed allergy and as such did not find out untill it was too late and had already started eating it. Despite clearly noting on the order NO SESAME SEEDS. Their explanation is that it is "pre-packaged" that way. How are we the customer supposed to know that? There is nothing stating that on the website.
Furthermore their staff member I spoke to was rude, argumentative and completely disrespectful saying that next time just don't order it and I refuse to refund you for that item placing the blame on me, the customer. Keep in mind I can understand you are just the staff, you don't cook the food personally and we were not blaming them personally but to not even emphasize or try to take ownership of a mistake that is clearly the fault of the establishment just shows very poorly of any kind of customer service experience and she does not need to be in this line of work.
Needless to say her manager was a much better communicator and showed some kind of empathy for our situation and directed me how I could be accomodated. I pleasantly shook his hand, explained my point of how such a mistake could be avoided and maybe add some kind of disclosure/disclaimer or option for the custoemer that may have an allergy. We are in 2025 and peaople do have Soy, Peanut and other allergies that most reputable restaurants make accomodations for right? No? Ok.
I will not be frequenting this establishment anymore. Their food is otherwise great,...
Read moreThe food is good, however it is outrageously high priced. There's only one size for a cold or hot "bowl". We ordered hot rice bowls and were able to pick our rice, meat, and vegetables, however no option to get or order less. No kid sizes, no "light" sizes, just one huge bowl. We each encountered sticker shock once our orders were rung up. We spent more than a hundred bucks for three people. Custom or different sizes would be preferred.
The sushi is more grab and go or you may be able to order from that separate sushi counter, except the gentleman running that counter isn't really interested in talking. The sushi was good and fresh, but limited on the options available (make sure to just read the label and the information listed above the cooler because no real information or recommendations will come from the gentleman at the sushi counter). The sushi prices were better, but same prices you'd pay at a Kruger sushi bar ($9 and up) and same "pick what's already packed up and available" only style.
Employees behind the rice bowl section were far more friendly and helpful, but they're limited to the options the owner puts in place.
I wouldn't recommend this place and wouldn't consider going again. They really should rename it to rice bowl express instead of I love sushi express and just leave the grab and go sushi as an available add on. We do love sushi but the name isn't really for your standard restaurant sushi bar lovers. We did see customers picking up sushi orders that we're guessing were called in but we weren't given any options other than to pick what...
