Still the best mexican-style tacos in town. Limes go well with them. Also, their Horchata is GOOD, not overly rich like at some other places. It's a bit pricier than I remember, but what isn't? Worth it. Decent place, it's a taco/burrito joint. If you expect a host(ess) or can't accept a straw wrapper left in a seat two minutes ago hasn't been whisked away yet, adjust your expectations. Menu is on the wall, includes La Bamba merch (for the hard to shop for), any specials on a board by the counter. Watch your order get made or TV. Drinks range from fountain (Pepsi🙂), Limonada and Horchata, to the cooler with water, Pepsico products, kids drinks, and some Mexican drinks like Jarritos (I like guava). Service is typically friendly and quick, expect a few minutes wait as they make it. Their late hours, like all La Bambas I've seen, are great; moreso in this age of slashed operating hours. Anywho, ordered four tacos al pastor, chorizo, and chicken (they were out of ground beef) with onions and cilantro: as nature intended. Always comes with a generous helping of sauce, which I'm amazed none of the little sauce cups have broke open in transit yet, yay! Sometimes limes are included, sometimes I ask, no big. They apparently deliver via a service, but I haven't used it. I miss the other old locations, hope another eventually opens; after all, who doesn't love tacos (and burritos, etc)? Healthy? No. Delicious? Yep!

Read moreI went to LA bambas today to pick up a burrito as big as your head I went only once before for my son and I received a burrito longer than a foot. Today I went and the guy there tried to give me a normal size burrito when I ordered a burrito as big as your head. I didn't try to explain to him that I had received something totally different on the for my first time there and that this was only my second time coming into their establishment. The guy I tried to solve and inform and solve the problem but instead the manager got smart or whoever he was that was working the grill and screamed in front of all the customers that was in there never to return to his store again am I not once became belligerent or loud or anything I just said thank you and I left his establishment. I don't understand why I was treated in such a manner or was he was trying to force me to purchase the burrito that I explained to him but paying $20 for it plus tax. When I went in there previously and I ordered a burrito as big as your head like I said I received a burrito bigger than a footlong my son took a picture of it. And this time I was being served something different for the same price I did not appreciate that and I will never go there again. Would I recommend this place to individuals no I would not especially my professional colleagues due to the treatment in which...
Read moreI have been a fan of La Bamba for decades since they were in their location just off State St. Their slogan is "Burritos as big as your head", and that's so close to accurate.
Prepared fresh to order, with the ingredients of your choosing, this massive burrito is only conquered in one sitting by the extremely famished, or big eaters. My wife ordered one recently with beef and pork and all the fixins. She said it was just like she remembered and lasted for 3 meals for her. I had the steak fajitas and was super impressed. With a lot of traditionally seasoned steak and veggies, plenty of tortillas to accommodate the massive amount of food, I had 2 meals. Their refried beans are sincerely the best I've ever had.
This timeless Madison staple is a fantastic, traditional Mexican eatery that I will visit...
