Great expecations, underwhelmingly delivery. The deluxe chicken sandwich had good flavor, but it had a small piece of chicken breast that was lost inside the bun. Loved the soft bun and sauce, but a slight overpay at $8 for just a sandwich that had a smaller piece of meat. The cheese fries were decent, but nothing to write home about. I had high expectations when I saw they used queso blanco, but came out as meh and quickly solidfied into solids. I'd recommend just going with the plain fries and hit the sauce bar. I do like the array of sauce options, but outside of the signature sauce (really good) the others were very runny and not the best for dipping. I also tried the tenders because someone in our group didn't want to finish them. I instantly saw why. The tenders were grease soaked and not in a salvageable way. Our friend literally grabbed them with a napkin and squeezed the grease out like a wet shirt which ran onto the tray. The grease that was soaked into the tender breading looked dark, smelled bad and upon inspection we saw that the darkness was from lots of burnt, black specs of breading floating in the oil which got over and into everything. Taking into account the whole experience of undersized portions, misses on flavor/preparation and the fact you have to buy every item individually without a combo option, I'd say you're better off going to the vast amount of other chicken shops within the local area. The meal total came to $38 for two people (2 sandwiches, 2 fries (1 loaded), and 2 fountain drinks). Much better value elsewhere and I will likely not be coming back because there are far too many other options that are much better (flavor and...
Read moreDelicious, juicy, well flavored chicken. Probably our favorite chicken place in town after the hard-to-beat Chick-fil-A. We got the deluxe chicken sandwich with cheese, buffalo chicken sandwich, kids grilled cheese, and an order of loaded fries (queso, bacon, and green onion). Youngest got a vanilla custard with her kids meal, and spouse got the special custard, strawberry cheesecake. We were impressed at the selection of sauces and that they had a large sauce bar with all of their sauces available at no extra charge... Something unheard of at most chicken places these days! All very good, and the workers were friendly, enjoying themselves together, and attentive. The only ding on atmosphere was that the TVs were a bit loud the afternoon that we went, but the World Cup was on, so we can give that a pass! They also have a separate shared dining place between Super Chix and 5 Guys, which works out perfectly for when our family can't decide between burgers or chicken! Will definitely be back - a great addition to...
Read moreCame here during the Huntsville restaurant week to give it a try. Mentioned it at the counter and they weren't even aware of it going on. Service was okay, not the friendliest (which is saying a lot since Huntsville is the friendliest town I've been in).
Got the special, The Hot Honey ($12 for the sandwich after taxes).
Chicken: tender and juicy, fried perfectly Hot Honey: very much honey, very little hot Pickles: sweet and crunchy Tomato: fresh-ish? Trimmed up Lettuce: fresh! Great addition to the mix Bun: not great in texture and lacked flavor Cheese: rubbery and unflavorful All together: eh, I think I would have preferred the Wendy's hot chicken for a sandwich. If I come back, I'd probably do just the chicken, and fries (they looked good).
Lemons: thin slices A note on lemons for drinks: if customers are wanting lemons, provide it in a squeezable format. Restaurants add lemon slices as a garnish because it looks pretty and hides dirty glasses; customers want lemons so they can add flavor to...
