The milkshakes were amazing...even ended up with the toppers as dessert to take home! It took a tiny bit longer to make them than expected and that's ok I understand that...but perhaps this location could boost moral across employees with their own flavor combinations that get to be specially featured for the day or week, maybe location specific kinda in store only not advertised kind of thing? Just an idea, because in my experience it's the small building and space that makes the time seem longer, if there was some kind of interaction or flair like Shogun, or just a distraction in the way you suggestive sell flavors...it's a lot to take in ..so a way to help people make a choice...a script-ish kind of welcoming instructions on this concept ... because it's not just an ice cream shop or a milkshake...you walk in and get inundated so the quiet "can I take your order" makes it feel like a negative inundated or that you want to make a quick choice because "she seems to hate her job or I'm taking too long" with the "can I take your order" kinda welcome to the bar .. maybe when there is a long line since you're bound to repeat yourself a million times, address the line loudly with your intro script about daily/monthly flavor suggestions and then individually when you speak to each customer ..then you can one on one use personal likes about what youve sampled to help those of us on the fence about which to get that we have narrowed choice down to two... Again, nothing wrong with the place, the brand, the menu offerings...just seems like such a fun place to have the atmosphere it does..but thats being a bit extreme I guess, but details got the milkshake yard bar...
Read more8/27 Update: Extremely disappointed. So, I've been here several times. The staff is normally super energetic, even though the place is really busy. When it's busy I know to expect a wait, but tonight was ridiculous. Four people working, no line when we went in,and it took almost 45 minutes to get our shakes. This was the first time I've ever experienced anything that slow. (-1)
Original Post: Found this really cool milkshake bar in Nashville that did outrageous milkshakes with full size cookies, brownies, and cheescakes on top. Used to drive 100 miles to get one. Not anymore. I went to The Yard this evening with my wife for our 27th anniversary. This place is amazing. Prices are a little high for a typical "milkshake," but look at what you get. It's the experience, and the staff at The Yard really bring that together. Couple other things if you've been to the place I'm referring to in Nashville. There you have to buy a souvenir glass. The Yard let's you keep your glass and even gives you a discount on your next shake if you bring it back. I had the Mint Green Monster and my wife had the Strawberries & Cream Cheescake. The cheescake ice cream had real chunks of cheescake in it and the mint didn't have that aftertaste that most mint ice cream's have. And agin, my compliments to the ladies working Monday night (13 Sep 21). Look, if you're in Nashville there is abosultely nothing wrong with that place. They do a great job. Unfortunately, I live in Huntsville and for me... I may never go back there again. The Yard is...
Read moreMy review is a couple weeks late, because well life is busy. My sister and niece came in from out of state for the week and we saw this place and just had to try it out. We went on a Thursday so it was not busy at all. Skylar and Lauren were by far the best employees, very patient with us as we kept switching back and forth on what we wanted, giving us samples, making us laugh and making the best milkshake experience. The music was great and we even sang a little ’yard karaoke’ with some of the songs. My daughter didn’t want a big milkshake so she picked out the Cookies N Worms and they were able to make it into an ice cream cone, only a select few of the specialty milkshakes can be made into cones. I did the Brookie Batter but they were out of the fudgy brownie sundae ice cream so I substituted for the white chocolate marshmallow and it was really good. My sister got the Peanut Butter Brownie Bliss and my niece got The Unicorn, they were all delicious and will be sure to put you in a sugar coma. They have sinks you can wash your cups in at the end as well, so you’re not taking a sticky mess home with you or if you chose not to get the souvenir cup you can leave them there. We also got cookie dough pops to take home which were also pretty good. If you don’t like milkshakes they have a ton of ice cream flavors to choose from, you can get a bowl or cone. It’s definitely not an every weekend type of thing but we’ll...
