Hobo Mickey's Pizza House — Restaurant in Madisonville

Mom and Pop owned, teenager operated.

Pretty good privately owned pizza joint, ran by the local high schoolers. We stopped here after an away football game at the high school down the road, otherwise we probably would’ve never known this place exists.

I don’t regret eating here:

🍕The staff was very friendly.

🍕The pizza was freshly made to order and OK tasting.

🍕The prices are a bit high for what you get.

🍕The atmosphere/ interior is a bit dated and could use an update.

🍕The service was OK. We waited a bit longer than expected but to be fair, they were very busy at 9:30 on a Friday night.

🍕They have a very limited soft drink selection and NO alcohol.

All in all, not bad if you happen to be passing through the Madisonville area. Some of the other commercial pizza joints do offer better tasting selections and are easier...

First, I can't help but shoot a short reply to Wynne Linden.. I can't ever recall NOT having a Hobo Mickey's, formerly Pizza House East in our town... so your comment regarding "getting away from hillbilly pizza & make it right" seriously made me laugh out loud. This 'hillbilly pizza' has been her for what seems like FOREVER and unless the phenomenal owners just retire, this pizza will not be going anywhere ;) So despite your critique, the pizza nor any of their other awesome foods needs to be changed. Thanks for stopping by The Best Town on Earth though =D As for my "review": LOVE LOVE the taco pizza! & love even more the owners of this place! I had moved out of town in 1996, moved back in 2003... Immediately called & ordered my favorite pizza and they remembered my voice & my order! That's what you call...

The best pizza in the county hands down! I'm so sick of franchise pizza (Pizza Hut, Papa John's, Godfather's, etc...). The crust is the best part. It's got a nice yeasty taste along with being perfectly chewy with a nice crisp. The sauce is the second best part. It's got a nice spice to it. They use the right amount for my liking. The toppings finish up these tasty pies. I like to get mine brown on top so that the cheese is crisp and chewy. Try the taco pizza as it is thier specialty. Everyone I ever known to try it can't get enough. I can't say a bad thing about Hobo Mickey's honestly. I haven't had one bad experience with them. I usually call in take out but the times I have been in there was a great visit. Here's to staying open as long as the earth spins and crank out those...
