Wades is a classic local fifties diner. The food there is excellent with generous portions. The day I was there was at lunch time, and there was only a very short wait to order and get my food, although they were very busy.
They have individual tables as well as booth seating. They seem to be taking all the proper precautions with regard to the virus. All the staff members that I saw were wearing face coverings.
The food was served straight off the grill very hot and delicious.
They play fifties and sixties music in the background, which is a lot of fun .
I should mention the men's restroom was extremely clean, I thought I had walked into the kitchen it was that sanitary. I'm always concerned when I go to a place in the restroom is dirty, but that was definitely not the case here. Management obviously takes pride in the condition of their facilities.
I would highly recommend this place, and it represents an excellent cost benefit equation. You get a lot of food for the money and it's great.
The menu is somewhat extensive, in the ladies behind the counter will definitely help you make a decision if you give him a few hints. I've had the patty melt and Burger they're both were great.
Stop in and pay this local business a call, they could use it. I like to support my local businesses, especially when they deserve it...
Read moreCool diner. Three of us in party, ordered the fried mushrooms, a catfish plate, philly cheese steak sub and the 4-patty bacon cheeseburger (I forget the name on the menu but it was some blend of "Wade's" and "Razorback"). The mushrooms were very tasty and the "large" order was a hearty appetizer for 3. My wife said the fish was nothing special. My daughter enjoyed the philly. I ordered the burger thinking the patties would be tiny, little skimpy things. Nope! I think each patty was 1/4 LB! It was a really good burger, but impossible to finish in one sitting. My leftovers fed me again later in the evening. Other reviews complain about the length of time to receive food, we got our order in 15-20 minutes (?), but everything was hot and freshly cooked, so you expect that to take a bit longer than a fast food joint. Nice folks, cool place, will go back again (and order a much...
Read moreOne of the best places in Columbia county to get a really great hamburger, some french fries, a large sweet tea, and a vanilla ice cream cone. Or any food for that matter. It's one of magnolias 1st and originals. I hate it that the store on main st closed. It was always busy. After they proved that they was able to hold their own against McDonald's, burger king, Andy's, the dq, & the flying burger. I was kinda hoping they would open 2-3 more stores in the neighboring counties. Expand a little. But i guess they wanted to go back to basics. Go back to where it all started. The roaring 1950s. Why it closed i reckon ill never know. I hope they didn't use COVID 19 as an excuse. Lol. But thank goodness the original store on the west side of town stayed opened. Thats all that matters. Their one of...
