El Mexsal Authentic Latin Food — Restaurant in Malden

Will never order from here again . Horrible customer service. I placed an order online which said the order would be ready in 30 minutes. When I arrived 30 minutes later and asked for the order the waitress looked at me and had no idea what I was talking about. She later went out back and found the order then told me it would be another 15 minutes. No problem, I sat down and waited. Once the order was ready and I went home I found that it was wrong.I ordered a quesadilla and steak tacos and ended up with chicken tacos and steak tacos. I called the restaurant and they told me to come back and pick up the correct order. I then had to drive back to the restaurant and when I got there they were asking for the chicken tacos. I was disgusted that they wanted food back that had already been at my house. I don’t eat chicken so I didn’t eat them but I never thought to bring back the wrong food. I had to argue with the waitress to give me the quesadilla that they had just told me to drive back and get!! No one ever apologized for messing up the order or for making me wait longer. I am so disappointed in this restaurant. I wanted to support a small local restaurant and unfortunately will never return there again and will never recommend this...

I grabbed the Chicken Tortilla Soup and the Beef Fajitas via delivery..

Both were excellent!

The soup came separated where the fresh ingredients were in there own container and the broth was in its own to prevent things from getting soggy and I really appreciated that. Once mixed together the soup was delicious.

The fajitas were great. But I was bummed they only provide 2 flour tortillas. IMO this dish should come with 4 as you could easily make 4 normal size fajitas with a couple strips of steak inside.

The sides for the fajitas came separate and were fresh. Rice tasted fantastic. The beans, IMO, weren't great flavor wise but overall okay to throw onto the fajita.

I'm definitely going to order take out from here again. Well worth a shot.

EDIT: Dined in and it was simply fantastic. The food is so damn authentic and taste wonderful. Cannot recommend this...

The app charged the item I ordered, when the item was not available. They called me from the restaurant to offer a substitution that wasn’t what they described. Specifically I ordered Salvadoran chicharrones, they offered me back Colombian chicharrones. What I picked up wasn’t Colombian chicharrones but instead fried bacon! Disgusting! Chicharrones any style, are NEVER smoked and so so salty. I asked the app and they referred me to the restaurant. I called the restaurant and they said that is what they serve as Colombian with no regards to the client’s complaint. I will Never order from this place again.
