This is a terrible place to eat if you want to hang out and be social our family went there with friends there was a total of ten of us there was absolutely no one in the dining area to help us put tables together so that 10 of us could sit together after eating another couple came to join us and they ordered food as they were waiting for their food and we were waiting for them to join us a rude b* came out and told us that we need to put all the chairs and tables back together the way they were we were still eating then she walked out after few minutes she came back in telling us to come on and move the tables back and that other people wanted to sit down and eat even though we had people still coming to sit down with us to eat our party decided to just get up and get away from this rude b* and as we were leaving she was ranting and raving to the customers walking in about that she couldn't believe that people would actually move tables and put them together will duh a party of 10 or more we should be able to put tables together so we could all sit together we will never go back to this place again we spent over a hundred bucks there and the food was definitely not worth it flies flying all over the place nasty seagulls flying all over the place trying to eat your food and they have such a small area to eat and I can't believe that they actually chased us out so other customers could come in sit down to eat restaurants like this are normally a first come first serve as no one is sitting you except for yourself she was very very rude with us and we will never come back and we will make sure that we tell everyone that we will never come back again and that they shouldn't waste their time to go there for such a...

Horrible service. This local spot has been ruined. I grew up in the area and went to Mono Cone to grab a burger and shake after being gone for several years. I was really looking forward to it and ordered my favorite lemon shake. My order is called, and they gave me a mint chip shake. No big deal. I tell them I ordered lemon.

The lady at the pick-up window tells me I ordered a mint chip shake and that they repeated it back. I did not hear the girl who took my order say mint chip. It's hard to hear through the window, especially with traffic running behind on 395. So I just told them again that I was trying to order a lemon shake. The lady tells me they don't have lemon as a flavor and asks me if I ordered lemon aide. I tell her no, I ordered a lemon shake and try asking her what other flavors I can order, and she tells me to wait and closes the window so I can no longer talk to them at all. I try to ask them through the other window if I can just get a refund. The girl who took my order rudely tells me I ordered mint chip, that she repeated it back to me, and that they've remade my shake twice now and hands me the lemon shake I wad told they didn't have.

So confused. I try to go back and ask to speak to the manager and the girl who took my order tells me she's the manager and continues to ignore me and call order numbers. I ask if I can talk to her since she's the manager and she continues to be rude and dismissive. I ask if I can have contact info for the owner, and she tells me she's the owner. That ends the conversation for me. I won't be visiting Mono Cone anymore.

A popular spot that will continue to get a lot of business, but I'm sad to feel like I can no longer go to this once enjoyable stop. It's...

How I wished that Mono Cone was a hundred miles away! Our family goes camping in Lee Vining at least once a year. Mono Cone is a drive up quick food restaraunt. They have a small indoor area with a few tables and chairs along with some tables and chairs outside. In the past we stopped for a soft serve cone but this time we decided to have dinner there. We were so glad we did! We could have eaten there several times and been happy.

They have a petty good sized menu. I wish I'd taken a picture. They had several types of tacos, several burgers, and hot sandwiches. The young lady who took our order was super nice and so helpful. She told us what the most popular items were and she didn't steer us wrong.

We ordered a pastrami burger, a chili cheese burger, a corn dog, and two Philly cheesesteaks, some fries and afterwards we all had some soft serve cones.

The food is exactly what you want when you stop at a roadside burger and ice cream stand. The pastrami burger was delicious with the perfect amount of pastrami. The chili cheese burger was super tasty, had just enough melty cheese and needed four or five napkins! The corn dog was made on site. I'm not a corn dog person but I don't think I've ever seen a corn dog that looked so delicious. I asked if I could have a bite of it and while our grandson said I could, he ate every single bit of it Two of us ordered the Philly cheese steak sandwiches and they were so good. I'm looking forward to my trip there next year so we can eat there again.

If you're in the area stop at Mono Cone and enjoy some ice cream at the least or enjoy a meal if you have time. You...

Mono Cone has been a tradition for our family for many years. It’s a very popular place so you’ll wait in line, 10-20 min. They have good food, great ice cream choices. They have about 5 picnic tables in the back, they also have about 4 tables in part of the building. Our favor place to eat our lunch is down the street, left side of Mono Cone, end of street turn left, your at a park with picnic tables playful for kids. There is also a historical school house and an upside down house. Not sure of the days and times they are open. Good view of Mono Lake from the park.

Cash only! Luckily we had enough cash on us. Good soft serve ice cream and shakes! We didn't try the other items on their menu. They only have three flavors (vanilla, chocolate, or swirl) and only two dipped options (chocolate and butterscotch). There's a small room to the side with small tables and chairs for indoor seating. There is a cute outdoor patio with seating behind too. There is usually a line out front to order from the window but it moves pretty quickly. The guy taking our orders was friendly.

While this won’t be the best burger you have ever tasted, it is *perfect* road trip food. It’s walk up only and while service is abrupt - it’s all in the name of getting your food quickly which I appreciate! Burgers and chicken nuggets were good and fries were OK. Portion sizes are great for the prices and there are small clean restrooms on the back of the building. Plenty of parking in the area and you can also walk to the “upside down house” just down the block.
