I came to this restaurant for the 1st time on 10/19/24. As the other low reviews state, the food is expensive specially when you compare it with the restaurant thats inside the Mobil gas station in Lee Vining. My party got 2 Basin burgers ($23 each), one Elk burger ($26) and one kids mac and cheese ($13). The burgers were ok and a good size, but the mac and cheese was TERRIBLE. PLEASE DONT GET THAT FOR YOUR CHILD. The mac and cheese doesn't taste like a typical mac n cheese. The sauce has a cardboard/nasty taste. When my child tried the mac n cheese he complained right away that it tasted nasty. At 1st I didn't believe him and thought he was exaggerating but then I tried some too, as well as the other people in my party and we all agreed that it tasted gross and nothing like what mac n cheese should taste like. What makes things worse is that I'm not the 1st one to complain that the mac n cheese tastes bad. The restaurants management should have taken notice and made a change to their ingredients/recipe. So I ended throwing away 13 dollars by ordering the kids size/small bowl of nasty mac n cheese. BEWARE!

This place was amazing. I’m usually not a fan of hotel restaurants, bc I feel they’re over priced and nothing special. This place was different! Hugo makes his own whipped cream (best I’ve ever had), Fruit was super fresh, and if that was one scrambled egg - it must have been from an ostrich! Oh, and that burrito was twice what I expected. It was bigger than my bicep! (New workout goals!) I got full just looking at it! They must not be the best at counting bc we got 3 full fresh toasts with the two toast order. Here’s to the next 3 meals of left overs! Indoor and outdoor garden seating . Both very beautiful. We sat in the Little garden area. Beautiful live edge knotted wood tables inside. You 100% get what you pay for- and 10% off if you stayed in the hotel. Thanks Hugo for the awesome food, and thanks Stephanie for the hospitality. If ever in the semi- general area again, we’ll be back. (Pictured is kids meal)

This is a great little spot I found. I did not know that it was there. I needed breakfast and so I stopped and glad I did. I knew as soon as my milk came in a jar I was going to get a good country breakfast. I was not disappointed. The people running the spot where the nicest people around. I talked to the gentleman there for about 10 minutes before I even got back on the road. If you order the breakfast I would definitely suggest to get the French toast. If you are looking for a snack for the road then you might want to grab one of those salted caramel brownies or one of each of those cookies. The brownie I ate on the trip home and it was absolutely delicious. Next time I will try those cookies because they look like the best cookies I've seen.

This is a walk up and order place. They'll bring your food to you. There are several tables inside and some outside. The food looks delicious! That's as good as it gets. We ordered ribs, hamburger, steak sandwich, and a mac n cheese. The ribs came out first which we thought was weird. The ribs looked good but were luke warm. Thank goodness the sauce was tasty! The meat tasted super weird. Without the sauce they would have been inedible. We finally decided the ribs were cooked earlier in the day or week and then microwaved before they were served. Yuck. We almost sent them back but the person was too hungry and with the sauce they were edible. The potatoes they served with the ribs were good but may have been boxed. The burger was large and came with sweet potato cross cut fries and just okay. The steak sandwich was okay. We all decided we won't eat here when we come to Lee...
