Got a bagel with cream cheese, an âegg & cheeseâ (as per their menu states) and a water. The owner rang us up and tells us it will be $19. When we contested this, he said you got 2 egg sandwiches with cheese and bagel. We told him we got one sandwich and a bagel and he didnât believe us until he fished the order ticket out of the trash. Re-rung us and tells us itâs $17. Questioned this again and he told us you got cream cheese on your bagel and cheese on your egg sandwich, both of which are a dollar. Menu said âegg & cheeseâ was $4.99, bagel with spread $4.99. Unless the 16 oz water was $9.99, something tells me the owner just charges whatever he wants and expects people not to question it. As if ignoring us the entire time we were in there wasnât bad enough, this was the nail in the coffin.
In response to owner: we did not get any customizations. We got a bagel with veggie cream cheese & an egg and cheese sandwich (no meat). We were not...
Read moreI have frequented the Corner Bagelry for a number of years when visiting family. I went to pick up bagels Saturday morning and an older man (who seemed to be in charge) took my order and then rung up my order- after totaling the amount I questioned how it could have been that high but paid as they were already making my order. Then while waiting I added everything up (including tax) and it was way off (by $10). I then approached this gentleman and he just seemed annoyed (it was not very busy at the time) and i asked him to re-tally the order. It turned out that it was very wrong but only discovered after I insisted that it was wrong and he seemed annoyed the entire time. Upon discovering this, he did offer me cash. I was overall struck with how rude this person was and will not be visiting again.
Edit to include response from owner: that is completely false. That was NOT explained at our visit, and I see you are trying to backpedal but...
Read moreWe came here to support the local owners of this shop as my husbandâs uncle started this business and sold it to the current owners. We were expecting it to have the same feel and charm and boy were we wrong. We walked in to hot and stuffy air and sadly it was cooler to be outside than in. No one greets you or even smiles at you and you are made to feel like a complete annoyance from the moment you walk in. The omelette was okay, the hash brown was stale, and the âtoastâ that came with the omelette was two slices of bread out of the bag- it wasnât toasted. As we left no one thanked us for coming in or acknowledged us and we even said âthank youâ on our way out. After our experience we hopped on google to read the reviews, sure enough we are not the only ones to have had similar experiences. Itâs sad to think what this business used to be like when the family owned it and what it is now. We will be supporting other businesses...
