The 55 dollar cake was dry, fell apart when sliced and DID NOT come as described on their website! The “cookies” on top were not the cookies I have purchased from them and loved. There was no caramel or ganache inside or on top of the cake like described. It was way too sweet because it was only vanilla cake and vanilla icing on top and filled inside the cake (gross!) Nobody could finish their tiny slice due to the sickening sweetness. The owner is incredibly nasty and a pain to deal with.. so I am not even going to attempt a partial or full refund, which is what is owed. The only time I purchased a bagel from them it was hard a a rock. When I called to ask for a replacement or refund, Lisa the owner told me “that’s just how gluten free bagels are” I’ve been gluten free half my life. This is very untrue. I wasn’t offered any compensation. When I went in to purchase cupcakes for my uncles bday, the employees were nasty and not ready to serve me an hour after opening. Nothing fresh from the delivery was put away. I asked for flavors that weren’t out and was told “this is what we have” when I could see boxes filled throughout the store from their delivery. I asked about the stuff inside the boxes that had not been put in the cases yet and she said “its all the same stuff” without even checking inventory. I guess she didn’t feel like unpacking the desserts. (Call me old fashioned, but if a bakery opens at 9, they should be ready to roll by 845, not treat me like I’m crazy for showing up at 10) When I went home I saw their story with all kinds of new desserts. I called the owner and she was defensive loud and rude, and again, did not offer compensation or to replace the old stale cupcakes. she said her employees have to sell the old stale cupcakes before offering the fresh. No apology no accountability. The cupcakes were stale crumbly and inedible, just like the birthday cake.
If you look at the reviews foe the older locations on google and on FB, the owner never apologizes or rectifies issues. I’m not sure how she’s still in business with the way she treats...
Read moreOverpriced for the quality of goods and service. My partner and I normally visit Papa Ganache for the rainbow cookies, which we still do enjoy, and the croissants. In the past we visited the Cranford location, but noticed today that we are greeted with the same apathetic, monotone carelessness regardless of what location we visit 🙂. When we visited at around 10:00AM today, neither one of the employees seemed interested in helping us, and we had to inquire about the items in the case. They seemed annoyed when they were assisting us, and while we are still contemplating, they seemed antsy claiming that they did not want to go back and forth between the non-GF items and GF items, despite us informing the employee that we were not going to get anything else from that section. They seemed impatient, and like they just wanted us out of there, despite the fact that we are the ones paying. Mind you—we were the only customers in the store, too. I was the most disappointed with the cupcake, it was crumbly, dry, and the frosting tasted like straight Crisco. I couldn’t even finish it. The Boston cream donut did not even have a donut texture, which I was very surprised at since it was not even gluten free. It tasted like a stale cake. The $4 rainbow cookies were good, and the croissant was good, but a little greasy. But we’re the few items worth the $30 we spent, given everything else that occurred? Absolutely not. The employees here need a serious retraining in customer service if they want to charge these outlandish prices, while there are many better vegan bakeries out there (that we will...
Read moreIf I could leave a zero star review then I would have. The worst customer service I’ve ever experienced! They forgot to give me a preordered box of pastries, so I had to double back in order to get the rest of my purchase. The lady was nasty and accused me of “forgetting” it on the counter where I walked in. Who leaves an order on the community counter at the entrance of the store??! I thought that was extremely odd at first, but went with it. She got mouthy about it after I confronted her and told her that it wasn’t under the bag as she claimed. I even went as far to tell her that I’m no trying to be rude, and before I could finish she immediately jumped down my throat and said “you are being rude!” After that I asked her to tell me her name and she wouldn’t. I told her she was being unprofessional and asked her if this is how she treats customers? I asked her who the manager was because I wanted to speak to him/her, and of course she stated that she was in fact the manager. What manager refuses to give her name? She then picked up her personal cell phone and said she is calling the police. I told her to please call the police so they can see how she is acting towards a customer. She didn’t of course because she realized how silly it was, and said I will call them if you keep harassing me. After that I recorded her and she had nothing to say at all. Just waved and looked like a complete fool. Never again will I come to this location. The customer service and experience...
