April 17th 2017 around 11am... My husband and I along with our 3 kids came to this diner today... nothing seemed right from the start. We pull up to toms diner just to see cops in the back investigating a murder (1am a 25yo was shot and killed in the back of the diner) we asked the police if the diner is open they said yes and showed us where we could park. We go in toms diner and when you walk in, to your left is a few seats (same side that the kitchen is on).... okay so here's where it gets worse. We pick the back 2 booths, above the booth in the middle was a fan. I was just looking around and noticed the fan on the ceiling above me was some what hanging and I told my husband that fan looks like it might fall... not but 5 min. Later it fell!!! The fan hit me on my back (luckily not my head). The whole fan fell and was still spinning even after the hit. I'm 9 months pregnant due in 18days and this could have been a very bad accident.... I don't see why the place looks so run down and the owner just let's it stay that way... cracked glass windows, seats with duck tape all on them, the women's bathroom is nasty... Needless to say the owner took the fan out and replaced the ceiling part that fell... but dang if you know you have a hole in your ceiling fix it before it hurts someone. This place needs some renovations. ASAP. Ohh and we didn't get to try the food bc we left. My appitite was ruined and dust was all in our drinks and on us... it...

You are asked to sit down when you enter. After being told of this requirement, we sat down and noticed the sign that stated, "Please sit yourselves," which was suspended from the ceiling by two threads.
Despite how busy the restaurant was, the server girls provided excellent service. They always maintained a sense of urgency and smiled while they served and waited. I've worked in the services sector before, so I am aware of how busy things can get. And it was beautiful to watch these few women manage the front line with class, style, and love.
Considering how busy the restaurant was, the food arrived promptly. The food and coffee were both excellent and hot. The food servings were what you would anticipate from a family diner, unlike the place with "juke" in the name.
I think a little remodeling may really improve the overall appearance, but I would always choose excellent service above good aesthetics. will undoubtedly return. In any case for breakfast foods, I endorse it. I'll have to return for items for...
Read moreI don't understand the great reviews. My experience was incredibly disappointing. my husband and i stopped for late breakfast. we love diners and we love hole in the wall type of local business. water took forever to come. the food took even longer.. more than 20 mins for simple breakfast items!! we ordered sausage gravy with biscuits... the entire plate of food was barely warm and a bit cold to the touch.. my hollandaise sauce on the egg benny was a disaster, the egg was extremely runny. the hashbrowns were barely browned and also barely warm to touch. did our food sat on the counter the entire time without being picked up?? ive had plenty of sausage gravy in my life, ive never had it on the cold side. i barely touched my egg benny and ended up throwing everything away when i got home because i got sick from the sausage gravy. pretty sure we were over charged. $40 for sausage gravy w biscuits (no eggs), potatoes and corn beef hash, egg benny and coffee with a side of stomach bug! I do not recommend this...
