I always wanted to try this place, cute fifties vibe at the front entrance, lots of fifties memorabilia on the walls inside. Black and white checkered flooring. It is not a huge place but they were plenty busy when my spouse and I visited for lunch. Waitresses were nice, we sat at a small counter there. There are booths along both sides of the wall. I have to say that we were both surprised by the food quality for the price. I had a mushroom Swiss burger, my spouse a classic cheese burger. They were a good sized burger, delicious french fries, small side of coleslaw, pickle, lettuce and two slices of tomato (who does that anymore?) The unexpected surprise was two onion rings. I have to say, its the little things that sets a place apart. Those onion rings were delicious, in fact our whole meal was. I will definitely visit again They have a giant menu, since I like to do reviews, I had to mention that. They put up a roast turkey dinner with all the trimmings. It smelled so good I wish I had ordered that, but I will try it another time. Breakfast was still being served the patron to my right had a ample plate of scrambled eggs, toast, and home fried potatoes. Looked awesome. The only con I noticed was that the air vents needed to be cleaned, other than that, this place is a hidden gem in the Manchester...
Read moreI would love to give them a 5, but cannot , I have to say the amount of food to get for your money is fantastic, the wait staff is fantastic, the place is clean from what I can see and I come here often. Here's the reason I didn't give it five stars, in these crazy times that we are in right now all of the wait staff was wearing a mask the cook was not it was pulled down around his beard , when I made mention of this the wait staff told him to pull up his mask and he said he doesn't have to wear one being in the kitchen. I don't know how this is possible, Maybe I'm Wrong if someone knows different please let me know I also have an issue that he has got nothing covering his beard or his facial hair and he's standing over top of my food, that really grosses me out since just recently I found hair in my French fries at another restaurant which I will not be returning to. When the wait staff told him to pull up his mask he was very nasty to them, he seems to have an issue with his temper I've noticed this in the past. This is something the management needs to address with their cook especially since he is out in the open to the public and everyone can hear...
Read moreFood is great, very slow ticket time for what should have been fairly simplistic entrees, was 18 minutes for me and my mother, bus woman seems to be angry as she kept slamming dishes into the bus cart, another patron said she might have been demoted since she was a server. Atmosphere wise was disappointed for a 50 style breakfast car theme diner, was very shocked to see as many current license plates hanging on the wall for a 50 diner you would expect a whole lot more older plates I only was able to count 6 plates prior to 1990 not exactly screaming 50s also all the cars portrayed were all Chevy tri-5s and one 60s Chevy Impala no Ford's or dodges not exactly a 50s feel to me also seems a bit biased for chevys if you are going to make it 50s car theme be diverse not biased to Chevy's I also expected more Mopar cars displayed. If you are going to do a 50/60s car theme do it right. Oh one last thing every song played in the hour we were there was the beetles, I know there are a great band but not exactly the right era...
