So I ordered pickup for 9pm when I arrived my food was already sitting there, usually no problem. I go straight home and all of the food was ice cold, I think I placed my order around 7:00pm-7:30pm but I had errands to run. I arrived at 8:50pm, figuring if they made the food maybe it would be done a bit early.
Nah that was probably done since at least 8pm. Like I said it was ice cold, not even warm.
Not sure if they paid attention to the order from their website but yeah disappointing.
Plus sides, food tasted great, and it's reasonably priced compared to other Indian restaurants in Manchester. Staff was friendly as well.
The restaurant has limited seating for 6-8 groups and very minimal, which shouldn't bother most people. Butter chicken was great and the lamb biryani was great even though it was cold, delicious. Garlic and cheese naan were also fantastic but again, iceeeeee cold and soggy since they had been in the bag for so long.
Great food, poor execution with regards to paying attention to pickup times.
Overall a 4 out of 5 because the taste hits and it's on point along with pricing...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis business has taken over the abruptly-departed Guntur Mirchi restaurant. I think it's been open less than a week so they may be still hammering stuff out on the menu. Quite possibly the best Chicken Tikki Masala I've ever had--the chicken was meltingly tender. I ordered the vegetarian thali, thali is a dish which is somewhat hard to find. This particular dish is a mind-boggling sampler of 14 items ranging from Biryani rice to wheat flatbread (almost like a tortilla) to aloo gobe to sambar to dal to okra and some other stuff I didn't recognize, but it was all good. It's a lot of food; this is really more of a dish to share with two to three people. Or four even.
I'm very curious about many of the items on their menu which I have not seen before - it is not the same-old same-old menu items since it is South Indian-- and the owner is super helpful with explaining what everything is. I plan to return to sample the ven pongol, which as best I can tell us some sort of rice and lentil dish cooked in ghee and milk? Curry...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI wanted to share some honest feedback. I was a bit disappointed for two reasons:
Chicken Appetizer ( ordered Chicken Majestic)ā For the price, the portion felt quite small. Also, the salt and lemon were quite overpowering. Iām not sure if this was an isolated incident or your usual preparation, but the salt content was especially concerningāit was high enough to potentially trigger a health issue like a heart failure flare-up. If this level of salt is standard, it might be helpful to include a note about it in the dish description.
Biryani ā The flavor was enjoyable, but again, the salt level was noticeably high. Iāve had biryani from several restaurants around Hartford and across the U.S., and Iāve never encountered this issue elsewhere.
I really hope this is taken as constructive inputāI'd love to keep supporting your food if these concerns...
