I called earlier today and ordered lunch to be picked up for me. I didnāt have their menu in front of me, of course, and said I wanted 2 quesadillas with rice and beans, but didnāt know if they have a meal like that. The young man (the ownersā son) said āno problem. Iāve got youā, so I trusted him to give me the meal I wanted. He told me that my total was $18 and change, which definitely seemed high, but I was hungry and itās not up to me to police what they charge. BUT, when my order arrived, I got two separate containers with one quesadilla each and huge orders of rice and beans, each filling a whole entree container and weighing about a pound. He put my order in as 4 separate items and not a meal. No one asking for one meal wants/ needs 2 pounds of sides.
Confused, I called them back and again spoke to the son. He said I got what I ordered. I asked why he didnāt give me a quesadilla meal, with a normal amount of rice and beans and just add a second quesadilla on the side if they donāt have a meal that comes with 2, he said, really smugly, because I didnāt tell him to. He said he rang it all up separately on purpose and started laughing, saying āitās not [his] faultā that I paid more, which makes no sense, because heās the one who chose to do it that way.
This is a good restaurant, run by honest people, but Iāve seen their son be a jerk in the dining room to people irl and heās been ugly to me on the phone before, too. I would handle this by speaking to the parents/owners, but the son is the one on register/phone, so I canāt contact They need to know that his behavior is consistently unacceptable when they...
