WARNING: NEW OWNERS. These reviews are from the previous owners. They bought the business, name, and review, they didn't earn anything before 2 months ago.
EDIT 2: I just can't. They lost me. This was my regular restaurant, pizza place, and bar before the new ownership. I'll be frequenting KC's more. Better food, better bar, better management, better owners, they give back to the community and care about the people. Why wasn't I going to KC's more? It's like one block away.
Also, I think a lot of these new reviews are their friends or paid. They just don't look like real reviews. Seriously low class.
EDIT: Management responded to this post in a meaningful way and that alone shows great merit. I've adjusted my review up and will give them another try in a few weeks and adjust my review accordingly.
Guy next to me orders cheese sticks. They came out lukewarm, not hot, not melty.
That is excusable. They could have fixed it.
So the guest tells the guy standing there - and I was so surprised that someone told me that was the owners (he was watching the whole place but didn't act like an owner that cared about customers, there was no talking, no welcoming of people, just a cold guy standing in the corner). So anyways, he tells him and the guy literally walks away from a customer that is trying to help him.
I just can't with that. They were foreigners and maybe that is their culture but here it just isn't going to work. Came off rude, uncaring, and the food was mediocre anyways so they can't be saved by having a good product.
OH AND TO BOOT, they didn't have ANY local beers - and when I ordered a Sam Adams, I was served a Fiddlehead.
I hope they go out of business and someone...
Read moreWe've ordered takeout from Grand Slam a few times since they reopened - they are open on days our preferred place is closed.
The food has been pretty good, but things rarely arrive hot. Delivery times are kind of long compared to other places in the neighborhood. Fries are good, mozarella sticks usually arrive lukewarm. We get the impression that chicken tenders and mozarella sticks are fried from frozen. The Honey BBQ sub is pretty good, but a little dry so we order with Mayo. I like the option to add hard boiled egg to a salad & the veg is always crunchy and fresh. Salad dressings are not very good - the house dressing is bitter and not otherwise flavourful, if you order honey mustard it is definitely honey mustard dip and is a bit thick and overbearing on salad.
There was an issue on our last order. They changed to a new online ordering system. New system requires manager approval before the order goes to the kitchen - our order sat pending approval for 40 minutes. We had to call to inform management that we had placed an online order. They approved the order, but did not offer to rush so we waited another 40 minutes for it to arrive.
Ultimately we ordered at 7:45 and did not receive our food until after 9PM.
Grand Slam isn't very high in our list, but we might order from here again if we're not...
Read moreGrew up eating North Shore Beefs down in MA, saw pictures of the beefs they were slinging here and had to try it. Easily the best North Shore Beef 3 way I’ve had in NH. Fresh, pink, warm flavorful roast beef sliced nice and thin. Cheese on the bottom, where it belongs. Perfectly griddled onion roll, crispy until the last bite. James River BBQ sauce was warm the way it should be and seemed to have an extra little kick. I usually drive down to Tessi’s in Tewksbury or Bella’s or Londi’s in Andover for a beef, but now I have one 5-10 minutes away. I’ll be back here very often.
Also: they have a full bar, tons of TVs, plenty of seating and very friendly service. Seems like it would be a great place to watch some sports. The prices are reasonable too, especially for the quality of the food. I will be back for many more beefs and I will also work my way thru the rest of the menu. The calzone and wings I saw others order looked great, and my wife got a steak tip salad which was delicious and super fresh.
Try out Grand Slam Pizza! They make...
