Playa Bowls — Restaurant in Manchester

I don't usually write reviews about the places I eat at. But as a regular burger and burrito eater who was hesitant to try something different, I figured my two cents might help others make an informed decision to try something they usually wouldn't.

The menu is pretty extensive so you will likely find several things you'd enjoy. I definitely recommend the Pura Vida acai bowl. The acai and fruit look to be of high quality. I'm particular about any fruit that I eat and theirs looked to be of high quality. The bowl is quite large and was more than I could eat (a rarity for me) but I finished it anyways cause it was so tasty. My tip would be to mix up the fruit with the acai so that the flavors are more balanced. That way you aren't just eating mostly fruit and then all acai at the end, like the person i was with.

Some people's negative reviews I read complained about it being pricey, but remember this IS fresh fruit and acai. These types of foods are not cheap. You probably don't want to eat "cheaper" fruits and like I said the portions are large. Have you ever bought fresh prepared fruit at a grocery store? Its just as, if not more, expensive and they use all the old, damaged, or past ripe stuff they cant sell whole anymore. Plus you cant really eat a decent meal for less than $10 these days and this is definitely more quality than the typical fast service places.

So for any eater who feels like this is out of their comfort zone of food, I think you will be very happy find a new quick and healthier...

I ate at Playa Bowl today thinking I was just going to stop in and pick up a smoothie bowl real quick and then go back to work. I originally made an online order so I could make the pick up even faster. Then I received a notification that my order was canceled and refunded. So, I decided to just go inside and order at the cash register, and it wasn’t very busy at the time. I wait about 20 minutes for my order to be called. I watched 3 people who ordered after me get their order before me. And more and more people kept getting their orders. Finally, I asked about my order, and they had told me since my order was canceled online they made my order and had to throw it away.. disregarding the fact that I came in and ordered inside as well. So they never made my order while I had been waiting for over 20 min. They then started making my order. About 10 min later they finished my order and the employee gave my order to the wrong person 😐 . I had to wait another 10 min for them to re make my order. So 45 min pass and I finally got my order. I then find out that they charged me twice, once online and the other in store. Even after post mates told me they did not charge me due to the cancellation.

I have been going to this location for almost 2 years now. The food, service and atmosphere has always been spot on but tonight we showed up last minute after a long day an hour after our pups dinner time. We asked if there was any kind of snack we could order for them to tie them over for the 25-30 minute ride home. The manager Rylie stepped in quickly to offer a few different options. We settled on some bananas with peanut butter. We have two, four legged babies that had spent the day at the beach and were hungry and over tired. Not only did she cut the bananas up, drizzle the peanut butter over them perfectly and package in separate bowls for them to enjoy themselves she refused to charge us for them. We cannot thank her and the team enough for going above and beyond. It may just be a banana or two and some peanut butter but the kind gesture was so huge.
