Spargos — Restaurant in Manchester

We never have a problem when we sit downstairs at the bar. This is the second time we ate outside on the deck and had issues. The first time, about a year ago, we ordered mozzarella sticks and the waitress forgot them. Not a big deal.

After our visit today, it is going to be a while before we go back, and we will only eat downstairs at the bar. I let the hostess know we were out there and it took a while for someone to come out and take a drink order. When she did take our order, she did not understand what Michelob Light was. We chalked it up to her being young. It was not overly crowed when we were there, and we were the only ones outside. The waitress never came out to see if we needed anything while we waited quite a while (25-30 minutes) for our food. She brought the appetizer and food at the same time. The mozzarella sticks were room temperature and there was a skin over the marinara sauce. The burgers we ordered medium well were barely cooked. You could tell by looking at it that it was not cooked. I sent mine back. She brought it back out about two minutes later. The plate and pickle were both hot, meaning it took a spin through the microwave and came back out. The burger was still not cooked. I sent it back and asked her to take it off the bill. My guy ate the bacon off his burger and did not eat the rest of it.

The waitress did not come back out so I went in to pay the bill. We were charged for fries when we did not ask for them. The cashier was kind enough to take them off the bill.

It was a horrible dining experience and it is going to be a while before we visit again, and we will not be sitting...

Spargos, more like Spar-No Thanks. My wife and I decided to give Spargos another chance after a bad experience back in November 2022. It’s close to home here in Manchester, and we like to support local restaurants. Unfortunately, it was a huge letdown—again.

We waited right under an hour for a basic meal during a non-busy period. I ordered the turkey club and my wife got a simple breakfast with a side of chipped beef gravy. Both were disappointing.

The turkey club came with a few thin, room temperature slices of turkey, some soggy bacon, and barely-there lettuce and tomato. It looked like it was thrown together with zero effort. The breakfast was worse—the chipped beef was all gravy, barely any meat, just thick, flavorless paste dumped on toast.

The unsweetened iced tea tasted old, like it had been brewed Friday and sat out all weekend. It had that stale, oxidized flavor that makes you wonder how often things are rotated.

To make things worse, the bathrooms were filthy. Easily some of the dirtiest restrooms we’ve seen in a restaurant around Carroll County.

The only positive was the price. It’s affordable—but you definitely get what you pay for, and that’s not a compliment.

After two bad experiences, we’re officially done. There are too many good spots near Westminster and Hampstead to waste time and money here. Spargos is off our list for good.

Been going to spargo's for about 6 months the food has been going steadily down I had ordered a month or so ago the crab combo the cream of crab and crab soup could hardly taste any crab and it had no flavor watered down I ordered a salad this evening a regular house salad with vinaigrette dressing the waitress brought out the wrong food it was what my sister ordered the waitress stated oh I guess I'll have to go up and make your salad now I ordered steamed shrimp half a pound and a tossed salad with vinaigrette dressing the dressing had no flavor so they decided they're going to bring me oil and vinegar dressing for the salad that again had no taste the shrimp had hardly any flavor No old Bay and the shrimp was just warm not very hot we stopped ordering draft beers the last 2 months because the beers were warm and didn't taste right apparently the lines need cleaning out causing the funky tasting beer when the waitress was pulling a draft beer for somebody else there was such a big head of foam that she let it sit there for quite a while letting the head to go down before she would serve it the lines have to be so dirty causing the beer to taste funky must not of been cleaned in quite a while that's why the beer tasted so nasty only will order bottled beer now won't...
