As someone with a background in the salon industry and customer service, it peeves me not only that I am leaving a negative review but also that I felt the need to leave such a review. I was very excited to try bijou and support a cute local salon. I was scheduled and charged for a color removal process at $100 an hour. I was there 3 hours and received a full highlight/lowlight, a root blend?, a glaze, and was still charged $300. My hair still had the colors I specifically went to have removed and ginger roots (my hair is brown). They kindly saw me again to try and fix the roots bc "they had bad products". My hair still looked bad after that bc there were even more colors in my hair then when I started. I hesitantly called a few weeks later to ask for some kind of refund bc I was overcharged for a service I did not receive and yet my hair still looks bad. The owner blamed it on the dye in my hair and said she thought I would stop bye after she promised to follow up with me. She then got more and more aggressive with me on the phone and angrily told me to "call back tomorrow". I was done haggling over the issue and refused to feel like I was in the wrong for simply trying to stick up for myself. I hope they can improve their...
Read moreI really had to think about this before I posted a review because I was really excited to try out Bijou and, honestly, my hopes were high. I thought maybe my expectations clouded my experience and that may be the case. But bottom line, my personal perception is it's just not worth the money. I've paid everywhere from $50 to $350 for my hair styling so I was not taken aback by the prices. But I was taken aback by the results for the price. My hair is maybe 2 inches long (and now 1 inch long after my appointment). And gray. So to see a billed item for $175 for 'overall highlights' was surprising. (But I do understand that effort goes into each head - regardless of length - so let's leave it at that.) And I can't blame my stylist at all - she didn't set the pricing. She tried to do what she envisioned I wanted but even after sharing pictures, I still walked out with what I did not want: lack of evident lowlights (I requested lowlights, not highlights). Which would have been fine for $75 - not $175. I'm happy that this is a small, thriving business in our community and want to be supportive - but we are...
Read moreI saw Veronica today for highlights/lowlights as well as to help fix the color job I had been doing on my own throughout quarantine. I also decided after about 10 years of the same hairstyle I wanted bangs again. Did a consultation with Veronica earlier in the week to go over what I liked and wanted and she did everything perfect. She took her time and really made me feel like she cared about my outcome. While getting an Olaplex treatment I watched the owner thoroughly clean every area that had been touched by myself, another client and any of the hairdressers. I'm so happy and thrilled with the cleanliness of the shop, the attention to my wants and needs and obviously my hair cut and color. Thank you Veronica and Bijou Salon. I hope your here in...
