Shrimp tacos - $5.50 each and only 2-3 shrimps torn in pieces.
My 2nd bad experience here in 3 months. Visited El Paso's restaurant today about 1:35pm with a girlfriend and my son. We got the new waitress who had only been there 2 days. She was horrible!!! She couldn't answer any of our questions. We went for Taco Tuesday and immediately asked for the prices and specials but kept getting, "I don't know. I'll ask" from the waitress. When she'd return to the table we had to remind her repeatedly of our previous requests. She disappeared for long intervals so I had to get up to look for her to get chips and water which we asked for but didnt receive. I was choking and didnt have a glass of water to catch my breath. I had to wave down another waitress who came to the table with her mouth full of food. Our waitress never gave us the prices of our tacos or drinks even though we asked repeatedly. When we did get a price after asking several times we were told they were $2. Later she returned to the table to ask if we wanted American or Mecian tacos. We didnt know the difference. We just asked for chicken, and pork tacos; soft for us and crunchy for my son. She didnt bring our individual salsas containers after we asked twice. We had to request to-go boxes for our tacos. She brought my son a giant adult glass of tea instead of a small kids cup. When she did come to the table she wanted to remove the food we were still eating but was no where to be found when we actually needed her or to answer our questions. When we asked her when was happy hour she said it started at 3pm so we asked how much were 2 house margaritas now. We never got a response but 10 minutes later giant margaritas came to the table by a male bartender or waiter. We assumed they couldn't be more than $6-$7 each but when the bill came one was $10+ and the other $13+ for margaritas on the rocks. She couldn't explain the bill so she sent a Hispanic man, maybe a manager who didnt identify himself to the table. We informed him of events and how shocked we were to order 3 tacos each on taco Tuesday and 2 drinks and be charged $53+!!!!! We asked several times if they were on special today and told yes. He chuckled at us and said, she's new and yes I understand but didnt correct or credit the bill. My girlfriend was really upset because lunch was my treat and service was horrible and management was worse. I refused to tip. That's right. I wrote my dissatisfaction on the bill and didnt give any tip. Service sucked! We felt dooped! Three small tacos each and 2 drinks and a ice tea for a kid $53!!!! WTH!!!! Who brings a little kid a giant open glass drink??? We use to like that place...; not anymore. My last visit in Aug I went to pick up carnitas tacos to go. I had an extra long wait, paid and left with my tacos in a bag for a pool party. Once at the pool I opened them to find I had only beef tacos no carnitas so I had to call and drive back. They didnt discount my order at all for my inconvenience. Two trips and the waitress remembered I asked for carnitas not beef tacos but still they offered no credit to my bill. ...
Read morei’ll start by saying i’m in the service industry and NEVER complain because i understand how things can go wrong sometimes. now let me set the scene, i walk in and sit at the bar. the bartender, Caroline O., takes several minutes to greet me because her and her friend were at the other end of the bar watching videos on their phones. this immediately put a bad taste in my mouth, but i’m not gonna let it ruin the rest of my experience. so then i order a shredded chicken taco salad, no guacamole (i’m allergic), add fajita veggies. she walks away and then comes back to ask me if i want shredded or grilled chicken after i just told her i wanted shredded. she brings out the salad with a side of guacamole and sour cream in the same bowl. i ask for a side of sour cream that isn’t touching the guacamole and she responds with, “but i thought you didn’t want sour cream”. i’m annoyed at this point. mind you, she didn’t write any of this down, which is fine if you’re actually paying attention and remembering orders. so i get my sour cream, no big deal. my water is empty at this point and she’s paying no attention to anything going on. mind you, i also ordered dessert after. there were 5 other people at the bar that she did not check on one single time while i was there until i was halfway done with my dessert. one of the guys had an empty beer for at least 20 minutes. the food is usually good too, but tonight there were stale chips, stale taco shells, cold churros, and barely shredded large chunks of “shredded chicken” (not her fault obviously). but here’s the deal, there are soooo many other mexican restaurants in this area. if you want people to choose yours, you have got to do better. i still tipped 20% because i get it, people have bills to pay and i work for tips myself. but she would have gotten double that had the service even remotely made up for the subpar quality of food on this...
Read moreWe visited the restaurant on a Sunday between 2 and 4 PM. The young gentleman who waited on us worked at the bar, and he was an absolutely horrible server. We ordered a large portion of chipping dips, one large margarita, and one small margarita; the small margarita was served in a child's cup. He was the worst server we've ever encountered.
Another customer came in, and the server quickly attended to him and provided his food. However, he never bothered to check back with us to see if we needed anything else. Additionally, on the other side of the bar, there were dirty dishes piled up, attracting flies. On our side of the bar, there was a foul smell of sewage coming from the bathroom, which was absolutely disgusting.
Throughout our visit, the server did not return to see if we wanted to place further orders. Instead, he stood by the register, where he took orders, and spent time scrolling on TikTok; I could see what he was doing. Two young ladies stood around chatting with another young man the entire time, as the place was nearly empty.
We waited for about 45 minutes, maybe even an hour, without any attention from him. Frustrated, my husband got up and asked the two young ladies to let the server know we wanted our check. By this point, we were disgusted and aggravated. The ladies didn’t bother to leave their spot to get the manager.
We paid the bill and left for another Mexican restaurant. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone. When we called to explain the situation to the manager, he offered us two complimentary margaritas. Do they really think we would want to return for free margaritas after such an experience? On a scale from one to ten, if I could give this restaurant a zero, I absolutely would. It has clearly gone downhill and is now...
