I accidentally left a brand new hydraflask water bottle (retails for $40+) in the cart during check out. I called the next day and was informed that, although a lost and found exists, and although it was in fact found by a store employee, it was allegedly discarded by the individual who found it because they thought it "was no good." I am not sure how a water bottle that is obviously new and is full of water could be determined to be "no good." Regardless, what is the point of having a lost and found if employees are allowed to make independent determinations regarding a found item's worth and whether or not it is worthy of being placed in the lost and found. Also, why are you telling customers a manager would have to place it in the lost and found if there is no protocol for an employee turning a found item into management? Thank god this wasn't my wallet. I guess they'd have "discarded" it too. Hope the person who kept my water bottle instead of putting it in the lost and found enjoys it...Thanks to...

It felt to me as if they were...

I did not, nor do I normally, keep physical copies of receipts. Most stores, including home goods, are able to accept returns in the form of store credit without a receipt. They denied me the return whenever I tried to bringing it back today, since apparently there is no way to âtrace this item back to this storeâ unless I had a physical receipt. Not sure what more proof I could have other than the original form of payment. Annoying, and I will attempt to avoid shopping here...
