I went to this business for my 55 birthday breakfast. When I entered the restaurant I was confused as to where to go, how to order and in general of the layout. There was a women behind the counter that was the first person I saw.
She was talking to another employee about how to place product out for display. After waiting, I finally asked if she could take my order. She rudely told me no and told me to go to the other end of the restaurant.
I was treated there by a great friendly young lady who took my breakfast order. When I told her I wanted to also order some drinks, chai tea latte and a coffee she directed me back to the other lady.
I again stood and waited, she finally said what do you want. I asked for two drinks snd she told me I had to go back to the other end again. She was rude as could be.
I also wanted to purchase pastries from the case.
I then went back to the young lady and expressed my frustration. I had already paid for my meals only to be told they were out of what I wanted and to pick something else.
My wife and I had another wonderful lady State that she was sorry forgot how we were treated and said “she does that all the time and won’t even talk to me” pertaining to the rude lady.
She then told us she would get a manager. The manager came right out and was very friendly and apologetic.
She then asked what we wanted and I told him I wanted some coffee beverages and some pastries. He then insisted on giving us pastries for free which I did not want as I was more than happy to pay for them. He told me they had other complaints about the lady. Another staff member then made the comment that she was rude to everybody.
The food was pretty good but we definitely will never go back. When other staff members of a business and customers make complaints about an employee it’s time for that employee to go. She was the first person seen in the restaurant and therefore was the first interaction and she should not be in customer service. I would give this restaurant zero stars if...
Read moreThis location is a dismal shell of the once-bustling yet cozy La Mad I spent many lunches enjoying. The last few years have been a gradual slope downward with what seems to be staff shortages and deteriorating food quality. For a long time I would go in and the front bar would be fully stocked with the day's offerings of salads and hot quick picks; the last time I went in there were two potato galettes and one sad tired quiche. I was the only person inside from 8 til 9 am. While the staff does seem to have something of a revolving door, everyone I've spoken with over the years has always been pleasant. It's sad to see this restaurant going downhill knowing what it is capable of being. With the food, it's possible that quality could have deteriorated during the pandemic and the corporate brand should address this if so. I'm not sure what the franchisee can to do to save this restaurant - hiring, firing, addressing the food, whatever - but I hope they are able to do something in time so we don't lose the only pseudo-decent kinda-Frenchish quick serve restaurant...
Read moreI ordered online to pick up. I questioned the size of the large salad and our conversation went down hill from there. I am accustomed to having the salad tossed and the chicken hot. It was prepackaged and looked to be half the size it use to be. Everything came out of the refrigerator, or so I thought. The lady on the register explained that I needed to request it heated. I didn’t know and I was running late now. The manager then decided to put her comments in and our conversation went down hill. She informed me everything was cooked fresh. I disagreed, how can chicken be cooked fresh and be cold??? I took the chicken out the bag and asked her to heat it up. She then told me she could refuse serving people that were nasty. So I agreed and told her to return my money an I would leave. It has been a day and only my purchase of $16 has been refunded. The $46.75 is still not refunded. This was my favorite place for salad and soup. Everytime I go to Mandeville I order the same thing. Sad I’ll have to find another place to bring lunch to...
