On Saturday, July 15, my wife and I took her 10-year-old son, who is celebrating his birthday, to LOFT18 for a day of fun. We had a reservation for 3 PM, for 90 minutes. We arrived 10 minutes early. Upon arrival, we were asked to wait “for a few minutes“ while they get our bay ready. We waited for 25 minutes and we were eventually brought to our bay at 3:15. Considering they charge in advance by time, and we had already paid for 90 minutes, I asked them if we would receive an additional 15 minutes at the end of our time, due to them bringing us to our bay late. We were told that the group before us simply refused to leave, which is why they brought us to the bay late, but that in order for them to get back on track, we would not be offered any additional time. Well, it may be true that the previous group didn’t want to leave, but ultimately, it’s the responsibility of the business/management to manage their business appropriately, and is not the responsibility of the next party to pay for something that they don’t fully receive because management didn’t know how to manage the business/situation appropriately. Therefore, they charged us for 90 minutes, wouldn't give us extra time or refund the time already paid for that we wouldn't receive and we were only given 75 minutes in the bay. They did come over about four times leading up to the end of our time to ensure that we were leaving at the scheduled time. Disappointing.
Additionally, we all ordered food, but they brought my wife’s and my meals out together without our sons meal. We were told his meal would be out shortly, but we waited 18 more minutes, and his food still didn’t come out. When I inquired, the waitress looked surprised, and said she would check. Five minutes later, his food came out (over 20 minutes after mine and my wife's). However, due to them not bringing all the food out at once, my son, who was hungry, ate some of mine and my wife’s meals. While we obviously didn’t mind sharing, we both lost part of our meals due to their "mistake" and by the time my son's meal was delivered, he was already full and my wife and I were still hungry due to not being able to eat our full meal, but we didn't want what our son ordered. The manager compensated 50% of our meals for all of their mistakes, but not getting the amount of time we paid for, and then not having all the meals brought out at the same time really made our experience less than it could (should) have been.
With all of that said, we were not impressed and will not be returning nor will we be recommending this establishment to anyone else we know. I hope they are able to manage their business better and that future patrons have a better experience...
Read moreI HATE WRITING REVIEWS but this was absolutely disappointing. I am just passing through and stopped for the night. Thought I’d grab a bite to eat and a few drinks to kill the time for the night. I sat at the bar and I was hoping for a nice pleasant night having drinks watching things on the tvs but the guy next to me was obnoxious swearing all over the place acting like an as* and apparently he was a regular that the workers knew as a close friend or something. The atmosphere was ruined by this guy that was clearly intoxicated, he moved to a seat closer to me making me feel uncomfortable and then proceeded to make loads of noises disturbing me. Even though this is happening the bartender continues to give him drinks and it seems that he’s getting them for free. He got up walked around then as I’m talking to the bartender asking a question he pops up again and sits on the other side of me. Talk about seriously uncomfortable! Even tapped me on the arm as he was singing to some song that came on. Like is this allowed in your business to disturb others while we are trying to enjoy a meal and a few drinks. I had plans to have a few drinks and stay for another hour but I instead rushed to consume my drinks and finish eating just to get away from that guy. I was going to ask for a manager before I left but it turns out the manager knows this man as well and condones these actions. It’s a shame that this place has poor management because it really is a...
Read moreLet me start by saying we were super excited to try Loft 18. When we walked in, we were ignored. After being seated, we asked an employee, Charity, who we later learned was a manager, where the restroom was, and it was met with attitude, but we brushed it off. Once we were in a bay, many of the games did not work, and another employee tried to help but was unable to get any game over 2 players to work. He refused to switch bays for us, and we lost 15 minutes of play time, which was not made up. An hour or so into our play time, Charity approached our bay, hostile, telling us that our children were too loud, which would have been okay, but continued to say that they had a pitch and it was the pitch that couldn't be allowed. Another mom pulled her to the said and had a private conversation with her. As a result, Charity did not interact with us again. Later, a kitchen manager asked how our food was, only myself and 2 boys ordered, not the rest of our group. He was super polite and the sweetest person I've interacted it in a long time. He even apologized on behalf of Charity. This would have ended the experience on a positive note except I was charged an extra gratuity on my food tab by the waitress because there was more than 6 people in our bay, even though they didn't order. While this place is cheaper and has more Instagram photo opportunities than Hole 19 it wasn't worth it,...
