Unfortunately, I’m lowering my review of the Times Grill from four stars to two. We usually come in about two to three times a month for dinner. The past few times we have been in the wait times for our food have been a bit long. Last night was the last straw for me. I returned home from an international flight and wanted to eat dinner with my family, so we decided to come in. Waited 30 minutes for a table, no big deal being it was St. Patrick’s Day. After that, things went really downhill. Twenty minutes to get drinks, and nearly an hour to get our entrees. No communication from server or manager. When we received our food, my fish was not completely cooked, my wife’s hamburger had a hair on the bun, and my son’s hamburger was not completely cooked either. At this point, we had waited long enough. The manager came by and I told her I wasn’t eating the food and wasn’t going to pay for either mine or my son’s. She explained they were very busy and the kitchen was backed up. Wow! An excuse for undercooking our food! She did make it right by comping our bill and providing a whole $10 in gift certificates to return. I’m going to think long and hard about that. This last experience was well over the line. Service has gone downhill over the past few months. I made the manager aware of this. I hope the issues with wait staff and especially the kitchen...
Read moreI went to this restaurant on Friday at approx 5pm . We were a large group. Celebrating both my daughter AND granddaughter birthdays. We were seated by a person that did NOT give me great hostess vibes. Then our waitress came to our table and took our drink orders . She NEVER came around to ask our end of the table . After our drinks came back we decided we would have appetizers and placed our order. Next she bought out appetizers and placed them at the end of the table rather than center. If they were at the center the appetizers would have been easier to share. She again stayed at ONLY one end of the table. My burger was to be fully dressed. Came with a thin, thin slice of tomato a small amt of lettuce that did even cover half my burger. My grandson burger was unappetizing and he ate less than half . She cleared the table while some of use were still eating. Once the check came . She presented it to the end person rather than even asking who wanted the check. As this was a birthday celebration at less a small piece of dessert should have been offered. I was NOT looking for a meal discount!!!!! My husband tip way more than I would have given the unsatisfactory service we received. So I will NEVER...
Read moreHello, this is an edit to my original post. My first experience here was a total let down, but I was convinced to give the place another try. It was very much improved. The man waiting on us did a great job, he knew the menu and explained the toppings etc. well. I had no idea what a doodad was. Place was much cleaner then last time I visited, and the food was cooked to order, and arrived hot. The place is in the old brick train depot next to the Amtrak station on Front Street. It is like a sports Bar with Tv's etc. But not like a hooters or applebees, more like a local lunch bar. They use the good ketchup, not the cheaper cysco brand which is very cool. They do something called a warrior sauce, the kid explained it but I did not try it, maybe next time. It sounded good, but I think I would get it on the chicken. Anyway, It is way better then anything fast food, if your in the dell and like hamburgers give them a try. If your passing through the area it is easy on and off the interstate, tons of free, off street parking, and there is a descent city park right behind it with stuff for little kids to do etc. I hope this...
