Sake Garden Sushi And Grille — Restaurant in Mandeville

This is by far the nicest restaurant that I have ever stepped foot in, and it is also extremely well priced for sushi. A California or crunchy roll is less than 4 dollars! As soon as we walked in the door, we saw that the place was completely empty. I don't know if that's why we were treated so well, but we'll definitely be coming back again. Right after we were seated, we were given this appetizer that was amazing (seared tuna ends with japanese pickles) without even ordering it, and then directly after ordering our sushi, they gave us ANOTHER free appetizer: a bowl of some great miso-like soup. We then got done eating our sushi, which only came up to about 40 dollars (and we got enough for 4 full meals, no problem), and we left them a 50% tip because of how amazing we were treated. Before they even saw the tip we gave them, though, they come out with yet ANOTHER free meal, some fried bananas with ice cream! We didn't ask for 3 of the things they gave us, and the quality of the food was fabulous. New to the area and trying the new restaurants out. This is the best Japanese restaurant I've ever been to. The tempura was unlike any ice ever had. It was crunchy outside with a fluffy layer before the main center. Perfectly cooked. The tempura dipping sauce was the best ever.

The sushi was so tasty! Specifically we had the California and crunchy rolls. Basic yes, Delicious nonetheless.

The teriyaki chicken was great with some great sauce. The beef teriyaki was just good not great. Could have been more tender and maybe marinated some. This is typical from my experience at Japanese restaurants in the South.

The little shrimp Rangoon things that came with the box were very good.

The gyoza were perfectly cooked and better than others I've had. Also the sauce was perfect! Just enough white vinegar, soy, and sugar.
