Overall, kind of disappointed with Taco lucha recently. We've gone several times over the past years when we used to live in Manhattan, but last week when I went it just wasn't the same. I went with a friend for our lunch break, we got there around 12:02, and then didn't order until around 12:10. Our three tacos didn't get to our table until 12 :47, and that was after pestering our waiter a couple of times. Granted the place was kind of busy, but 40 minutes? That's an insane amount of time. I felt really bad for my friend because he had to box his up and bring them home. The other thing, the service was not very great. Yes they did give us a refund on the black bean dip that we bought because of our long wait, but the vibe I got from the staff was that they were uninterested and helping us out, and that's a real bummer. The most disappointing part? The tacos believe it or not. I ordered the carnitas and the El Mexicano, and both believe it or not felt cold and just lacked a lot of flavor. It's weird, because it's just not what I was used to based on the old Taco lucha. I am not sure what changed, I have not lived in the Manhattan area for a couple of years now, but something is definitely gone wrong, and they should really try to fix it. Honestly, the fact that we got a refund on our black bean dip is the only reason this isn't a two-star review. Not a great experience overall, and tough to say I will be back.

This place is better than your typical fast good Mexican restaurant, modernized, street food, and good ambient. Every time I see this place it is on its way to becoming packed so of course that’s a big reason to try the food and to be aware of parking spaces. Everyone who waited or assisted me in some capacity has always been nice and mannerly and like the restaurant states, it is a little funky. Even their bar is huge and made of wood with some funky carving. I’ve been here a few times now and I always get tacos, I stick to the ones I love but I do like to mix it up, they do have great flavors. You can never go wrong with chips and dip but my go to is the queso blanco and chips. My top three tacos consist of, el mexicano, slayer, and carnitas. But they have more that are certainly just as appetizing all of which can include steak, pork, chorizo, chicken, and fish. My food has always been served hot and it taste good so how could I ever complain. If you need a quick fix of Mexican cuisine this could be the place for you!

The two stars are for the service and the atmosphere. It’s a cute little cozy restaurant. Honestly, the food was terrible. First of all, you have to pay 3.5 for chips and salsa. Maybe because it’s located next to the campus, and they don’t want students eating chips and salsa for free. That’s the first time I’ve ever had to pay, and the salsa was a little too spicy and the chips were bland. Everything seemed to be extremely favor. My sister got a taco with some jalapeño sauce, and that’s all you could taste. There was also really nothing inside the taco. We were looking for the chicken. I got the carnitas. It was stuffed with meat, but it tasted like someone poured pineapple juice all over it. Again the flavors were too extreme. We shared a Cali burrito, and there was this random mushy potato side. The tortilla tasted like a tortilla for a wrap. All we tasted was the avocado. We choose the chorizo as our meat. Again there seemed to be nothing. Would not recommend this place.

My sister and I came for lunch and were in great spirits. I am a restaurant owner as well and typically never leave negative reviews but I was absolutely appalled by the horrible service we received. From the get go our server, Biv, greeted us with an attitude. I figured "okay, maybe it's because she's so busy." That's fine. I overlooked it. We orders the chips and queso. It was typical Velveeta and rotel dip. The chips had a bunch of random French fries. Okay. We are in a college town. Fine. My sister ordered the strawberry banana margarita. It was awful so she decided on a beer instead that took about 15 minutes to get because our server was too worried about talking to her friends. The Buffalo tacos were almost inedible due to the spice.. The stacked enchilada was okay. We were already irritated so we didn't eat much. We decided to get our check and just leave, however, once again, our server was too busy talking to her friends to notice. Thankfully, after 20 minutes of trying to get her attention, a sweet girl, Haley, noticed us the second she came outside and got our check in literally 30 seconds. Once Biv noticed Haley at our table, she came to ask if we were okay. Before we could say a word, haley was there with our check in hand and Biv just rolled her eyes and walked away without saying a single thing to us or her Co worker. I could over look the quality of the food if the service was atleast good. But between all the servers on their phones texting and worrying more about talking to their friends, and our servers sour attitude, I...

This one is a mixed bag for me. The food is really good. The queso blanco is a bit too watery (throw some cornstarch in that ish) but still tastes good. The tacos are also really tasty.

But the service and the sales tactics are awful and borderline sketch. This was our first time in the restaurant and as soon as we sat down we were expected to know what we wanted before we had even scanned the qr code to open the menu. And we weren't doddling, we had literally just sat down. The waitress was nice but she needs to slow down.

But the thing that really bothers me is the poor tactics on menu pricing. My husband ordered two draft beers that, per the menu, were X price. They showed up at 50% higher price when we got the check. When we asked about it, the waitress explained that on weekend, they serve the draft beers in slightly bigger cups so they charged more. But there was no explanation of this to us BEFORE ordering and it's stated nowhere on the menu. So naturally we were surprised and a bit put off. There's no transparency in that respect. We paid the check and didn't complain but I can't imagine everyone would be so happy to have that sort of bait and switch performed on them. You're operating off a digital menu - make the fix on the menu, it's not like you have to pay to print new menus. Or at the very least, inform patrons.

We would come back for the food but next time I'd ask a lot of questions or tell the waitress to just slow the heck down so we can have a moment to breath and actually look at the menu without feeling...

Honest to goodness worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. period. First off, we had a party of six and was told the wait would be 20-30 mins. We waited for over one hour. While we waited outside a member of the kitchen staff walked by with a pan that was emitting one of the foulest odors I have ever smelled. He came back gagging and got another pan. The curiosity was to much and we asked what in the world was in those pans to smell like that. He laughed and said it was some pork that should have been tossed out a few days ago. I have had stuff expire in my fridge and never in my life had anything smell as half as bad as that pan of rotten pork. We were in complete shock. Still, we eventually did get our seats but they were out in the patio, right next to the dumpster with the bad pork in it. I can't make this stuff up. Wait staff apologized and thought there was a sewer problem. It was the pork from the kitchen. To top it off, we waited over an hour again to receive our food, all while sitting next to the dumpster containing the bad pork. If the food was good I couldn't tell over the smell and the fact I was doing my best to keep it down. If you let something like that get that bad in a commercial kitchen I can only imagine what else is going on back there. This whole ordeal took from 11:15 am to 2:20pm. Needless to stay I will never go back under any circumstance and will tell anyone to steer clear. I suggest you...
