Visited Green Tea Sushi while in Manhattan Kansas. It was the Japanese restaurant I have been looking for in Kansas. Most of the Japanese restaurants in my area are hibachi style places. Green Tea is a full menu restaurant with authentic Japanese cuisine and sushi. The staff was great and we did not have to wait to be seated. We tried the crab rangoon, gyoza, miso soup, teriyaki chicken, tempura chicken roll, and shoya ramen with pork. Everything was very tasty! The price for 3 was around $50 so it is not an everyday stop for most. The atmosphere was not as cozy as I thought it should be for a restaurant like this, but it was still well above acceptable. I will be returning as there is a lot more I want to try. I definitely recommend Green Tea Sushi if you want good Japanese cuisine and sushi.

So after reading all of the reviews I decided to take my husband here for Father's day instead of UMI. He loves sushi and ramen so I thought it would be nice to try something new. The outside of the restaurant is a little run down but most of the best places are. We walk inside and immediately the floors are so slippery and dirty that you almost fall. We were greeted by a very nice hostess and taken to our table. There were five of us and we were seated at a 4 top with a small table pushed up to it. Both tables were super sticky and dirty feeling. The chairs were gross and one was held together with duct tape. When we sat down there was music playing but after about 5 minutes the speaker died and it was dead silent in the restaurant. Our server was great. We ordered the dumplings for an appetizer and they were delicious! After the appetizer we were waiting for our entrees and the ac turned off and the restaurant got super super hot. Like uncomfortably hot, my husband was pouring sweat as well as my baby. Our entrees came after about 10 minutes and my chicken tempura bento box was delicious. My husband got a volcano roll and a side of ramen. He said the roll wasn’t rolled tightly and it had no flavor other than the wasabi and soy sauce he was using. His ramen had whole slices of Spam and a whole egg in it. He said it was okay. My oldest son got beef ramen and he said they were just okay and my youngest son got hibachi chicken and he barely ate any of it. It wasn’t a horrible experience but it wasn’t good. If the AC would have kept running and the place hadn’t been so dirty it would have been better. Our bill was 97.00 and I left a good tip for our server because he was awesome. But for that 120.00 we could have a more comfortable experience at UMI. Would I go back? Probably not.

Tried this place for the first time today. Don’t suggest it. Atmosphere seemed okay(I got my food to go didn’t spend a lot of time inside) and the girl who helped me was very nice. But still, DON’T SUGGEST IT. Just want to make the crystal clear. I have a lot of dietary restrictions(gluten, dairy) so sushi is kinda my go to restaurant food. Having said that I pretty much get the same thing every different sushi place I go-California roll with avocado on top. It’s normal you get upcharged for the avocado on top- but never have I been upcharged for tiny little shreds of avocado-please see attached her photo for reference. I have never once, out of the uncountable times and different sushi restaurants I’ve eaten at, had this served to me this way. I was refused a refund. Like I said, don’t suggest it.

I always love coming to green tea, and I have never had a poor experience here. Tonight I ordered online for pickup, and when my roommate brought our food home we discovered we were missing a roll. I called the restaurant and explained what happened. I wish I caught the woman's name, but she looked up my order, found what roll was missing, and called door dash for us. I later got a call from door dash and they had a dasher bring me my missing roll! So very grateful for the amazing staff at green tea and their delicious food! I will always recommend them and continue to eat here! Thank yall so so much!! ❤

I was very excited to try this place after many of my friends recommending this restaurant for sushi. But I was extremely disappointed in the quality and portions of the food I got. I paid $10 for five thin rolls. I honestly think I got the wrong thing because of the roll I got was supposed to have crab in it and I believe I had fried shrimp. There was also lettuce in the roll? Which was definitely not in the description nor have I ever seen lettuce in a sushi roll before. I’m sure this is a great restaurant but when you’re serving many college kids, you really need to step up your game for takeout.

They pack the sushi with so much rice. I had to take off half of the rice of the nigiri sushi because it was definitely not bite size. One of the rolls tasted off and the shrimp sushi was definitely not right. As I was going to eat it, it smelled off and once I ate it, I had to spit it back out. I thought I was going to vomit. It seemed like the shrimp was sitting out too long and went bad. I couldn't eat half of the sushi because it tasted off. As an Asian person, I love Asian food, but this place was not it.
