We were excited to try a new place especially since it's within walking distance. I'll give 3 stars because the building and decor itself is really nice. Be prepared for a very small menu. Our waitress seemed to be rushing us to eat and seemed irritated that we didn't purchase any alcohol. The food was disappointing. $12 for a "grilled peach salad" which didn't include chicken and had to be added for an extra $4 (Total $16 for a salad!). The peaches weren't grilled at all and were from a can. The poppyseed dressing had a spoiled taste to it. The grilled chicken was so charred it's all you could taste. We also had the chicken and waffles ($17!). The best part of this were the Brussels sprouts and slaw. The chicken was flavorless and sauce for the chicken tasted like couch syrup. The waffles were not good. We tried the cevapi since it's not a dish you often find at a restaurant and it's a favorite of my husbands. His food was extremely charred as well which took away from the flavor of the dish. Would have been better if ajvar was included. We all wished we were as smart as the youngest member of our family and got a simple burger.
We were interested in axe throwing however there wasn't any information that we could find on how we were to go about doing so.
Hopefully they can work out some of the kinks with...
Read moreWe decided to give Artifice Ales & Mead a try after I ran across a deal for them on local flavor. I'm glad we decided to try it. The atmosphere was great & decor. It was welcoming, clean, & warm. I had a french dip with fries. It was delicious. The fries weren't greasy & were seasoned well. The rest of the table had mac & cheese with pork belly, and smokehouse burgers. The only criticism was that the kids menu ( the adventurous eater) the burger was slider size & a bit smaller then we expected. But, its our fault for not asking. My son loves a good burger & said next time he's just going to get the adult one. If your kids like flavorful food then this is a good option for a family meal or even a date night . Our waitress was attentive & sweet. Service didn't take long. The owner ( or who we believe was the owner) also came over to talk briefly about the food. We will keep a look out for when the menu changes & be back sometime. It was refreshing to find another quality non chain restaurant to add to the list Keep up...
Read moreWe came here after work for a few drinks and some relaxation. The restaurant is clean and well kept. The interior is newer with a rustic feel to it. I specifically came for the mead since that is one of my favorite beverages. I was disappointed that they only had one mead out of 5 on their menu on draft in stock. Due to this they only had one mead available to make mixed drinks with as well and it was a cherry flavored mead so your options were limited. I ended up getting a glass of a bottled mead and it was just okay. Their food was good we had an order of the pretzels with cheese sauce. I did have their hefeweizen which was delicious. It was chilly in the restaurant and the fireplace was not working which was unfortunate. One of the reasons we came was because its advertised they have axe throwing which the waitress informed us they did not. Over all I give it a 3 out of 5 and if you have the option I would just go to their sister location in Lancaster...
