I've eaten Twin Kiss all my life at the Palmyra and Elizabethtown locations. Even when we moved out of state in 2007, when coming back for visits, we would still eat there. I was devastated they closed and still pray a location will open again one day in that area. But there's one last location in Manheim and its been well over 6yrs since I've had Twin Kiss. made the hike and finally went, while visiting Hummelstown area.
Wow! It was pretty good. It definitely isn't the same. But close enough. 1st. The fries are horrible even my kids said so. We are used to the delicious crinkle fries. But the skinny. It's ok. But. Ours were over cooked and not very hot or good. 2nd. Onion rings. The best ever!! I havent had that good of rings in too many years!! Still not hot hot. 3rd. The cheesesteak. I am so glad I got extra cheese and sauce cause I have no idea how dry it be w out it. It was GOOD. But slightly different. But satisfying. Still not hot hot. The ice cream was so darn good it was crazy.
The service was AWESOME. The kids working entertained this ol lady on the stories I've said above and entertained my enthusiasm over a cheese steak and being there!!! Wish the cashier guy wouldn't have had his hat so low that I couldn't see his face. But he tolerated me as I'm sure I was annoying and he was great. The ice cream kid was so polite and it was excellent service there. As I was leaving I said thank you to the kids on the grill, one young guy was very professional, likely a mgr or child of one, loved him. Most excellent experience and food. A lifetime of memories and tastes of memories that I sure hope never ever close🙏 thank you. I hope they consider another location in palmyra or elizabethtown area and bringing back crinkle...
Read moreGo to Dairy Queen or Rita's for frozen treats, instead. They have better selection, better prices, and are typically cleaner. Seriously, this place charges 50 cents to add sprinkles, yet fails to cover more than 3% of the ice cream with them.
Add to all of this a confusing and inefficient ordering system where hot food and ice cream are located in separate preparation areas, flanking a central cashier counter. You are forced to leave the area where the menu is displayed to merge into a disorganized line made up of the lines from each side merging haphazardly in the middle so that you can place and pay for your order with the cashier. Heaven forbid that you fail to photographic memorize the menu, or intended to order a meal and desert together, because you'd either have to be a very devoted regular or a fast food savant to pull it off.
Once you've paid 20 bucks or so, you have to return to the menu area you started at, in order to receive your 4 rather small , plain Jane sundaes. Good, but certainly nothing special.
I would have rated the restaurant lower, but their extremely polite and patient employees are it's saving grace. It's almost like the restaurant was devised by the devil with the goal of tormenting and confusing customers for his amusement, but he just couldn't find workers evil enough to stick...
Read moreOverall bad experience a bad customer service, not worth the high prices, not worth the time. Upon arriving, there was one person waiting for their ice cream and one person ahead of us ordering. We should have been in and out pretty quickly, but that wasn't the case. Both ordering and waiting for or order was a slow process. Ordering, aside from the overall turtle's pace, the person has a hard time our order extra sprinkles in a cup and that itself took longer than it should have. Waiting for our order, at that time we were the only ones, was painfully slow. Sprinkles on the cone -we had to ask twice for more and gave up because the guy was just not getting it. Paying $1 for sprinkles on your cone, you'd think the ice cream would be covered - nope, sprinkles were sparse. We had to ask for the extra sprinkles in a cup we paid another $1 for and this guy seemed like he didn't understand the concept wither. He put maybe a tablespoon of sprinkles in a cup and handed it to us, we asked for more and he put maybe another teaspoon in and looked up and me - I said "more please". Finally he put more in and at that point we were happy to just get out of there. We've passed this place many, many times always wanting to stop in - what a disappointment, needless to say, we will not...
