I have been visiting Manheim PA. for a while and this was my second visit to the Cats Meow. I just wanted to have a few beers in the afternoon. I was in the dining area on the balcony as the inside will not open til tomorrow. It was about 4 PM. My waitress was Sherri.I just got to tell you something. I'm in my sixties and when I was a young man I used to wait tables. After my first beer this lady got seated pretty quickly with 10 or 12 people on 4 tables. All wanting food and drinks, ID checking for some young ones, checking for some reservations for later so we could be seated having been unreserved etc. A lot a little work and know how! Being that they serve food and good food I thought I'd be waiting forever for these beers. I had 4 total.I could tell what a great waitress she was. How she overlooked the whole station always ready to know if I wanted another one or someone else needed something and I could not believe how fast it came everything came out. Yep she was faster than any bartender I've ever been around all my life and she was serving food too! This is a great little place. The ambiance on the balcony is fabulous. A great view of the railroad tracks, some quaint houses and very quiet nice music! The Juengling draft (12 oz.) is only 2.60. I'd pay 3 times that in a bar where Im from with blasting music and screaming patrons. You gotta visit this place if you come here. But Im really writing this review for Sherri!. She is fast! Im sure she has the help also of the employees inside but she is EXTREMELY attentive. A great waitress . Very smart and organized. Believe me this is not an easy job. I broke down one time in my 20's in a 4 star restaurant when I waited tables part time! She never missed a step with all her orders, delivery, the whole nine yards. Im 66 and I will tell you again I never ever have had that good service! She is like clockwork. Yes sir. She was working the lunch shift but you can call and find out when she works. Maybe she'll think this is overdoing it, but every time she came out that door she had my beer and many times at a food establishment I have to wait forever just to get a beer whether I eat or not. I gave her a great tip. Thanks Sherri. This is Michael. Ill be back! Thanks Cats Meow. Great place...
Read moreThe Cats Meow in Manheim Pennsylvania.. Went for a luncheon with my husband and in-laws ..because of the reviews ..i was pretty excited ..not to mention hungry after setting up our own shop all morning. We were not dressed & pressed per say so we figured we would go to the bar area ..grab something from the menu ..eat and be on our way.. so my in-laws walk in got us a bistro off to the corner so we were not to disturb anyone and the main floor would stay open .. the barmaid/waitress wasn't the most pleasant ,to be honest she was dismissive ..before anyone states "she was probably super busy" please note .. she had 8 people at the bar one other table beside us ..(which finished and already were on their way out as we were sitting)1 bar back and also the manager was sitting in the bar area with the hostess. We began our orders from the bar menu ..not once were we asked for the temps per burger order (you would think paying $10.75 you would could get your burger at a temperature you could enjoy ) ..each order was to have fries ..none of them came out with any. Father in-law had to order a side of fries to which she reluctantly ended up getting ..didn't get any napkins ..had to ask for them ..the rest of the few minutes we were eating were just side chatter , which was ok ..got a good amount of stares and glares as if I robbed them of their first born. But keeping myself to myself I shrugged it off .. finished the meals we got up and walking past the bar to thank the server/barmaid ..she turned her face to ignore that we were still polite ..but I will say whoever reads this and gets a good laugh on how we were treated .. its ok.. I didn't write the review till now its been about two to three weeks since this happened ..also to point out these fun facts ..Father in-law is a retired Forman ..mother in-law well respected teacher for kids with special needs .. my husband Store Owner/Manager ..Myself Co-store Owner/Manager ..(husband and in-laws are White American .I'm (Puerto Rican American).. ill Recommend The Cats Meow to anyone ..ill even give 5 stars cause its more entertaining and far from true ..the service is lacking bitter & childish ..food is mediocre ..ps carpets and ventilation need cleaned...
Read moreI was on a quest for a cute unknown restaurant with good food, it didn't have to be great food, just good food on a sunny Sunday afternoon. This was recommended by the Google robots, and it was near my favorite salon in the world, Bienvenue, so I thought I'd give it a try. Did I mention that it was beautiful and sunny? I stopped in around 2:00 p.m. which is not a terribly busy time generally for restaurants. The hostess who was not super friendly, sat me in a cold dark corner. I was not amused. When the server came by I asked her very politely if she would mind moving me to one of the sunnier corners? She was absolutely delighted to do this and move me to a sunny beautiful corner and a booth even though I was an only person. The server was everything! The food was good, and they did their best to accommodate my no-carb diet situation which I'm not delighted about. I got the French onion soup which was fantastic, sans croutons. And I got the surf and turf Burger, minus the bun of course because such is life. The burger was overcooked which made me sad because I'd ask for a medium and it was definitely medium well. But it was delicious it just wasn't cooked the way I prefer them to be cooked. I always have to test run restaurants for this because if it's a place I'd love to take my partner, they are very picky if their food is not cooked to order. And I was kind of bummed because this place is very beautiful on the inside. Not super mega rich people beautiful but, charm up the wazoo! Again my server was everything. If you're looking for a romantic dinner, or a charming lunch with a friend, call ahead and reserve table number 18. as always check out the menu before you go to make sure you can eat the stuff...
