UPDATE: I GAVE THEM ANOTHER CHANCE! Spoiler Alert, DON'T!!!! I've been going here for three years, food and service have been declining but this was beyond the pale. I order the same thing every time. Humus w/ lamb. It usually takes 10 minutes or so. I was the only one in the store. The "Cook" started my order, but was lazy about it to say the least. He put the lamb on the grill, but only partly. Then he got a call from his girlfriend. While on the phone, he made himself a sandwich, cooked it, and began eating it behind the line! Another couple came in, got their food, ate it all, and left. After more than 10 minutes of waiting, he came up to me and said "It will be about five more minutes. Maybe seven. I don't know". Then went back to his phone call. Eight minutes later I told him to just box up the lamb, I'll microwave it if I have to. I am pretty sure it is fully cooked before it even hits the grill, but I could be wrong. Either way, it doesn't take 20 minutes to cook a couple of chunks of lamb 1" square. He refused to pull the lamb from the grill, and started berating me that I think I know everything! Eventually he said he was refunding my money and NOT serving me! He was hostile beyond belief, and very disrespectful. The other employee came up to apologize, and calm down the first employee, when the first employee started getting PHYSICAL with the second, putting his hands on him and telling him not to interfere!! I've never seen behavior like this at a restaurant. Someone actually tried to resolve the situation, and another employee threatened them and put hands on them! After SEVERAL more minutes of back and forth with this psycho, I eventually got my money back, but will NEVER be returning to this place. EVER. It's too bad, I really liked Shawarmania once. I just hope I can get a refund on my...

Read moreWhen my wife and I went on our 'honeymoon' in 2023 my wife's friend made a point of taking us to her favorite Lebanese deli.
Mankato has something quite similar, if not quite so large, but worth a visit.
Quiet on an early afternoon, so we walked past the grocery selections to the counter and got our menus.
My wife opted for a Greek salad with gyro meat, while I had a gyro sandwich and a Greek salad with the house dressing and a Turkish coffee.
The salads were excellent.. cool and fresh, a hint of lemon with the dressing, easily a light meal on their own.
The gyro meat was excellent, easily the equal of Mac's or Zorba's or any of the Greek places in Rochester at their peak.
The coffee was exquisite, needing no sugar for my taste but I recommend people look up the difference before they order.
Afterwards we picked up some spices and cookies- I regret not bringing a cooler because the prices on halloumi and feta were better than I can find in Rochester.
If we ever find ourselves in Mankato again we'll go back.. the pistachio tiramisu seems...
