I've gone to Mana for years now. It's one of the only places you can get organic, clean, juices and smoothies. I have always recommended it to friends, family and mom friends. A few days ago I went in to get my kiddo and myself a smoothie like we have so many times before.
When I walked in, there was one person waiting for her drink as employee made it. The employee never greeted us, which was odd but no big deal, she gave other lady her drink and still never said a word to us and went into back for 3-4 minutes then popped out and finally said hi. Just my child and I and she seemed flustered or annoyed. I brushed it off of course, everyone has a bad day. We ordered two smoothies, she made them, and we left.
I didn't take a drink of mine until a few minutes later at a stop light and I got this pulp like texture in my mouth. I've had tons of your smoothies before and make my own at home, so I assumed it was some of the fruit. I then took another drink and felt it again and pulled out "the pulp" from my mouth. I was instantly repulsed seeing how it was white stringy something. First glance it looked like white wiry dog hair but there was so much of it, I knew it couldn't be.
I gathered all the white wiry pieces from my mouth and took a picture of them and instantly called Mana to let her know something is wrong. The girl told me she thinks it's just the fruit/pulp and I assured her it was not. She then said it again, as though I had never had a smoothie before. I informed her I've gotten tons of smoothies from here for years and I've never once had this issue or complained before. She sat on phone quite, acted annoyed and I told her I would be back in.
When I got to Mana, she refunded my two smoothies as I had my child stop drinking theirs as soon as I pulled the white stringy things from my mouth. I told her maybe something fell into the smoothie and she quickly cut me off and said that's not possible and then I said maybe it's on the frozen fruit itself from vendor and she said nothing was on it. I told her she needs to inform the owners to double check and instead of saying oh my gosh I'm so sorry, I will check the fruit or blender, she acted like I was making it up or I was crazy. As she was refunding my drinks I noticed the white fibers on the inside and top of my clear smoothie cup and pointed those out as well. I showed her the picture and brought in fibers and she just shook her head and said sorry. It was horrible customer service and I now will not be recommending this place to anyone. Mistakes happen, I totally get that, but for her to act as though I did something to my drink or was making it up is absolutely insane and horrible customer service. If you look at my account I've purchased dozens and dozens and dozens of smoothies/juices/and food and seamoss over the years and not once have I ever complained or took something back. This experience was super disappointing.
When I zoomed into the white stringy things, it looks like super fine thread which is better than dog hair, but where in the world would that and so much of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo I went to Manna Juice Bar as I usually do to purchase a Manna Mule (my favorite drink from this establishment because I love the ginger in it) and Sea Moss Gel. The Manna Mule had a reddish brown tint to it so I felt like something might be wrong with the mixture, because usually it has a more clear/close to somewhat yellowish color because of the ginger. I also saw other bottles of Manna Mule that had the same strange reddish brown tint, sitting in the store's cooler as well. However, after leaving the establishment and bringing the drink home and tasting it, it was nothing like my previous Manna Mules I've purchased from this business. It tasted terrible for one and secondly, there was no ginger taste whatsoever because there was no ginger!! Yet on the back of the bottle where it lists the ingredients, ginger is checked off as being one of them in the Manna Mule!
I have been supporting this business for several months now for two reasons. I liked how young people, especially minority children were being given a chance to work, develop professional skills, earn an income and learn about how to live a healthier lifestyle through nutirent dense food drinks and/or cleanses. Also, I made it a mission of mine to try to support the business because it was started by a minority family and I wanted to do a better job of supporting small minority businesses such as this one. However, with all that being said, falsely advertising a product to have ingredients in it that are not present and then to charge $10 for said product (the Manna Mule) is utterly ridiculous and totally unacceptable!! My wife stopped ordering the Manna Mule because she noticed what she described as a dip in quality of the drink's taste, where some elements of the mixture overpowered others causing it to taste more poorly than what she was used to. I continued to order the Manna Mule and Sea Moss Gel to try to support the business and remain loyal to one of the few places near where I live that allows me options to eat and drink cleanly. However, after this incident I will never be ordering the Manna Mule again and if this type of poor service, false advertising and absence of ingredients that are checked as present continues, I will not be spending my money again at this establishment!!
I understand that good help is hard to find due to the pandemic and the "Great Resignation", but false advertising, presenting a poor tasting product and selling products at a high price ($10 for the Manna Mule) with ingredients that are guaranteed to be included, but are not actually present, is something that is easily fixable and should never be the case in any business scenario!!! Be professional and train the young professionals there to produce and keep up a quality product because they represent you!...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe WORST customer service ever. The cashier (said she was the manager as well) was very unprofessional and rude. She takes my order for an aƧaĆ bowl, I list my three toppings under the toppings options and she says āso you donāt want 3 toppings.ā I tell her I named 3 and she says āhoney or agave already comes on itā why not just say that instead of getting an attitude?! Another associate struggles to make a lumpy aƧaĆ bowl, blending it over and over. I can tell the way she is taking it out of the blender and stirring it that she is having issues, she keeps looking down at the receipt/paper and sticking the mixture back in the blender. I go over to ask why itās taking so long And that I usually donāt wait this long for a aƧaĆ bowl (Iāve ordered this at other places) and the manager begins to explain how itās made as the other girl continues to struggle. The manager walks to the back to avoid fixing the issue and having a conversation with me. She starts picking her purse with her charger and other belongings with her purse on the counter.
At this point I asked for my money back. She let me know that they canāt give refunds since she already started making the bowl. Finally I ask for her to call someone above her because the is handling the situation poorly. Whoever she called was in a meeting and instead of handling the situation decided the would take my name and number to call me the next day.
Finally I just ask her to just remake it because she said there is no other option and she goes over to pull a random smoothie from the fridge, I let her know I want a new fresh smoothie Bowl. As she is making my bowl she noticed a water spill and decided to start cleaning and touching the trash can with the same gloves that she is wearing to make my smoothie.
I will never go back and donāt recommend this...
