(Evening of 4/1/23) Just stopped in to Jake’s Burgers. My party and I walked to the host stand and were seated. In our section, there were 2 other parties. 5 minutes passed, 10 minutes passed, 15 minutes passed. My friend waved in an attempt to get anyone’s attention, but we were not helped. All the while, the waitress for our section repeatedly passed us and attended to the other two tables. When she went past us again to attend to another table in the section, the Caucasian couple in that party mentioned that she had not helped us. She then for the first time looked at us and said “that’s not my problem”. My party and I were the only African Americans in that section. Once she said her statement to them she passed us once more. We proceeded to then drop off our menus at the host stand. At the host stand was the same brunette Caucasian waitress (with a ponytail and purple shirt on at the time) and another waitress. When we passed by to leave, I stated “we were never served, so here y’all go” and proceeded to place the menus back on the host stand. Not a word was said as we walked out. In shock, we began to drive away. I then called the manager because we could not believe the way we were treated. The manager apologized and offered to rectify the situation. At this point, we are traumatized from our experience and plan on never returning. In the past, we have frequented this establishment a lot. Due to an ignorant, racist waitress, they have lost customers for life. We have been humiliated and made to feel not as valued as...
Read moreJakes Burgers and beer has been around since 1985, serving the community with great beer and awesome food. This location is at the corner of 360 and E Broad in Mansfield,TX.
I have been to this location multiple times for their great draft beer selection and food. The draft selection is always changing, and they update their menu as it comes and goes. They have a full bar here and multiple dining options as well such as patio dining and an indoor type setting for service. All of the staff and workers do a great job providing service and look happy and proud being here as well.
I usually start off with some appetizers like fried pickles or jalapeño chips with a side of ranch. The pretzel bites are good as well with queso and a spicy mustard provided along with it. The hamburgers don't get no better than this with a nicely prepared juicy patty with toppings and cheese and a choice of a sesame bun or not. The fries are out of this world and seasoned to perfection. If you want to try something new, I would personally go with the tater tots with chili and cheese and green Chile's.
Everything about this location is great with the wide variety of drink selections and freshly prepared food. They have a seasonal menu as well where you can try some seasonal option favorites. I highly recommend this location and restaurant when trying to choose food for family and friends. They also have a great brunch provided on the weekends where you don't want to miss out on items that are served...
Read moreBar service was excellent. We moved from the bar to a table to eat. From the table we placed our order, two of the four orders requested ranch on the side. The food was brought out by a food runner/server. No plate came with silverware, napkins, or ranch (not a problem, just ask, right?) when I asked for 4 silverware settings and two sides of ranch, I was met with an over the top, dramatic display of a toddler in a man’s body, he absolutely threw a fit when he was asked to do his job… bring silverware and ranch. He turned his head in a dramatic fashion, stuck his nose in the air, slammed his shoulders, and pranced away with the attitude of a queen. He returned and dropped the silverware rolls as if they were hot (they were not), the ranch was delivered like he was bowling. Apparently he was not happy to be employed.
I expressed my observation of his behavior with his manager, she seemed fine with in her words “him having a moment”, I expressed that as an employer, I would be bothered by his expression of a moment, I tried several angles, none that seemed to rise to the point of her having any concern.
I’ve been a regular customer (2-3 times per month) for nearly the past 3 years, I will now choose to inform my neighbors and passes through of Mansfield to not choose this establishment that doesn’t have a customer forward business model, please reward other deserving restaurants with...
