Vernon Newsom Stadium — Attraction in Mansfield

The Mansfield ISD and the City created an all-star venue here, with all the bells and whistles. Easy to access, lots of parking and restrooms, even an upscale comfortable seating section on each side. It is probably the best lighted stadium that I've ever visited at night. A photographer's dream.

On event nights, the large restrooms, well-done concessions stands and access ramps help keep the crowds moving. All areas are very well lit and ventilated, a plus for those hot days and nights.

The jumbotron is always fun and informative, a credit to the installation as well as the folks who keep the info and look fresh during events. The press boxes and upper galleries are decent and provide good areas for photography and videography. The PA system is excellent, making it easy for the audience to understand announcements and enjoy the fill music.

Beautiful stadium! I remember RL Anderson Stadium which was fine, but the Vernon Newsome stadium is gorgeous, modern and top notch. About as close to a professional stadium as you can get! The only difficulty we had was not being able to purchase tickets at the ticket booth... No one works in them. We had to figure out how to go online on our phone and purchase tickets on the website which slowed down the process of getting into the stadium well before the game. It was a multi step process that someone had to walk us through. The other issue we had was being told that I was not allowed to carry my purse in unless it was the size of a pencil bag, so I had to walk all the way back to the car and leave it inside. We don't have kids going to school anymore, so there was no information on the purse or the ticket process until we walked all the way up to the...

Nice stadium that is all I van say about it. I was there for my kids homecoming game, I had only been there 10 minutes, spent $32 on tickets when we were asked to clear the stadium because of a storm moving over our way. I understand for safety reasons that part but I feel there should be a policy in place for these kind of situations to either offer part or all of your money back or maybe free admission to another game. I understand they depend on these sales but there should be some exceptions. I don't just have $32 to give away like that, I don't even gamble my money like that. They never finished the game it was halftime. The students who was in the homecoming court never got to go on the field. Parents paid money...
