came here with a few friends for an early dinner. it was dark and a little grungey inside, but seemed relatively clean - until we sat down. the menus were sticky and all 4 of us were overwhelmed by the amount of options there were. we ordered the mac and cheese bites for an appetizer and they were mediocre at best. they tasted exactly like velveeta (which may be good if you enjoy velveeta, but personally i am not a fan. especially when i am out to eat). for my entree i ordered a buffalo chicken grinder, and i was immediately not appealed upon seeing it. from looking at it, it appeared to be mostly lettuce, but i was not upset about this as i just took a little bit of it off. i WAS upset, however (or maybe slightly nauseated is a better word), about the several pieces of bone i chomped down on when i bit into the chicken. the first time i just spit it out and continued eating, but the second and third time was enough for me. i ended up removing the chicken and lettuce entirely and just eating cheese and buffalo sauce on a piece of bread. without the lettuce and chicken on it it actually wasn’t bad, but at this point i was a little grossed out from all the hard pieces i had bitten into, so i didn’t end up eating much more. to top off this sub par experience, when i turned on the water in the restroom to wash my hands after i went, the tiniest dribble of water came out of the faucet. it was barely enough to rinse the soap off my hands, let alone properly wash them. i do have to say, the service was good; we were seated immediately upon our arrival, our waitress was very attentive and sweet, and our food was out of the kitchen relatively quick. however, the service doesn’t mean much when the food is slightly sickening.

We are in town visiting my son at UCONN and we decided to give Red Rock Cafe a go. I must say the place was pretty busy. The staff is extremely is extremely pleasant, everyone we came in contact with. However as soon as you walk in, I did not get the greatest impression of the restaurant itself, excluding staff, restaraunt itself didn’t give off clean vibes. But the boys wanted to try it so we continued on. The menu is very big and so much to choose from that you get a bit overwhelmed. I opted to have the chicken wings, they had 64+ flavors to choose from. I had the mango pineapple. It was good. The wings were juicy, tender, and you could taste the mango pineapple a little bit, and I’m content that they were not drowned in the sauce. My husband had a bacon burger without lettuce, tomato, onion and came out perfectly. The waffle fries are a bit greasy but no worries none were left at the end of the meal😆. My son had the same bacon burger but with all the finishes and he enjoyed his as well. The sodas though … I had a ginger ale- disgusting! My husband and son both ordered cokes and each one tasted differently so we sent one back and now it tasted ok - the weirdest thing ever since it’s out of the same machine / not sure if it’s from dirty cups or what ! We opted to skip dessert

We stopped by to check out their Happy Hour Specials. The Margaritas were good and worth the $6. The appetizers, well honestly we could have done without. The nachos were a bit of a joke. There was a smattering of meat, if that. The pic of them shows exactly how they were served. The fries with mozzarella cheese and bacon, please don't get. The fries were soggy and the "bacon" really was something you'd scoop out of a jar. Overall, the quality of the food is what was disappointing, as well as the cleanliness of the bar area. I was watching the bartender take out the wine glasses to serve wine, and I can clearly see fingerprints and smudge marks on them. That's how they came off the shelf. There were flies..many of them landing g all over the rims of the glasses as well. Not a clean place. I will stop right there. I'm sorry Red Rock, I tried.

The location was convinent for what we needed after a long afternoon at the adventure park. When we arrived (2 adults 1 child) we were seated promptly and asked what we wanted to drink within a few minutes, after this it went downhill, my boyfriend ordered fish and chips and so did the table next to us (they ordered prior to us), about 10-15 minutes later he got delivered his fish and chips and we were told our remaining dishes would be at the table in a few minutes. 2 minutes after he got his food the next table got there food but no fish and chips because come to find out they gave us there food. Now another 10-15 minutes later our remaining food arrives, no salt and pepper on the table, I asked the waitress who was not very attentive this whole time for parmesean cheese and salt and pepper and the dressing for my daughters salad, the waitress then repeatedly kept going back over to another table looking at ours but not bringing the condiments we asked for. Come to find out her family was at That other table. Finally after another 10 minutes of waiting for condiments I asked another server for the check and boxes, our waitress then comes over and says " sorry its taken me so long, I have no excuse" to my boyfriend. I advised the manager as to what happened and advised him that my dinner had a horrible texture to the chicken and was inedible and he took off my daughters kids meal off the check and then an additional 10$ but my meal alone was $25 and my daughter couldnt even eat half of hers because everything that was supposed to be on the plate wasnt. No bread was served That was listed on the menu. Finally to end things we get boxes, the waitress finally brings over a dressing container and it wasnt even what we ordered. Very disappointing for a mother on mothers day when I just wanted to enjoy not having to cook, but I would have had a better experience at home cooking...

This was the second time we have visited the Red Rock Cafe Restaurant and man were we disappointed. For the second time, we have experienced inadequate service and issues regarding the pricing of our meals/sides. Our first time at the Red Rock Cafe, my girlfriend and I ordered a large specialty pizza with half one type of specialty pizza and the other half another one. This establishment charged us for 2 large specialty pizzas as if they were two separate pies. We asked the waiter if this was possible and they said that would absolutely not be a problem. If we had known this, we would have just ordered two separate pizzas. When we addressed this with the manager and waiter, they said that is how they typically charge for a half and half specialty pizza. Simply outrageous. Aside from the spotty service and the pricing issue, the food was fantastic, thus the 2 star review. We decided to try the Red Rock Cafe one more time this past Friday night. To our amazement, the same spotty service and pricing issues still pursued. We waited 20 minutes at our table to even be seen and another 40 minutes after that until they even took our order for food. We were astounded when we were charged an extra $4 for marinara sauce. At no point were we told that marinara sauce would be an extra charge and that it would be more than the cost of a drink. It is very sad because we absolutely love the food here but it honestly feels like we are nickled and dimed every time we come into this establishment. This has nothing to do with the pandemic at this point and has everything to do with inadequate customer service. Management has demonstrated that they simply do not care about their customers being happy with their experience even when it is simply their fault. Moral of the story, back end runs fantastic but the front end customer service and wait staff...
