This is a review to add to Michelle Sepiol’s review of 06.12.2024: On 06.12.2024, we (Dr. Reed and I) were at Yorkholo enjoying pizza night. The custom pizzas are delicious and memorable. The crust is homemade using grains from the brewing process. The waitresses were great and the cooks do an excellent job. The wait for meals or pizzas is 18-25 minutes as food is prepared and cooked fresh. Appetizers like pickles come out quicker. It was well worth the wait. The chicken wing and Bungy backroads pizzas were exceptional!
There was another man and woman dining at the same time. They totally consumed an appetizer and drinks before leaving Yorkholo. We thought it was odd because the waitress came out with a pizza for them less than 5 minutes after they had left. I did not see the couple pay for the food or drinks that they enjoyed before quickly leaving and posting a bad review.
The ironic fact is that the man came back in the restaurant looking for a purse the woman left behind. The staff at Yorkholo had secured the purse and kept it safe until the gentleman returned for it.
I am sorry and saddened to see Michelle Sepiol’s review. I feel her review is inaccurate and unfair. I was there, witnessed the event and saw a much different story than was posted.
I also think that if a patron it's unhappy with a local business, they should express the issue and give the business an opportunity to offer remedy. Poor reviews hurt feelings and business.
Needless to say, I will go back as the food is memorable and high quality. The staff is genuine, friendly and invest real effort into providing a nice dining experience.
The wait time is totally acceptable as they prep and cook food fresh that is often locally sourced. The wait provides time to enjoy a drink or a nice conversation with a spouse, friends or business associates.
Thanks for the opportunity to share my experience and comment on the 1 star review on 06.12.2024. My name is Lawrence Bellows and I give Yorkholo 5 stars and appreciate being able to enjoy a nice dinner at a locally...
Read moreBeen there a number of times. Some of their beers are really good, some seem like your buddy was experimenting with the homebrew kit he got for Christmas. There are enough options on the menu to please most folks, if a bit pricy for the portion sizes. The servers have aways been nice. The only real complaint I have is with their, relatively new, ordering system. If you sit at the bar, as we typically do, you can order a beer but not food. If you want food you have to get a menu from the hostess then return to the hostess station to place your order. They then give you a marker to carry back to the bar so the "server" can find you. If you sit at a table you have to order both your food and your beer at the hostess station. The "bartender" then walks your beer to you (your marker) and your "server" does the same with your food. You know those new kiosks at McDonald's where you have to tap your way through a giant tablet to place your order despite there being a perfectly good human standing behind the counter doing absolutely nothing? It's kind of like that only even more annoying. So, will I continue to patronize this place? Yeah, I guess. It's Mansfield. There are only two places to get a beer in Mansfield and the other option, next door, is simply not an option. Will I eat there again? Not until they get rid of this stupid...
Read moreThere is a certain feeling that may wash over your mind and body when you walk into certain establishments, a sudden and glorious revelation: this is one of those places, a cultural oasis in a vast sea of temperate forest and bovine pasture. Yorkholo is one such place.
Between exposed brick walls, the warm lighting is matched only by the warmth of the staff's pleasant demeanor and possibly the warmth of hot meals, tempered in turn by cold beer, all brewed in house. A rotating and always-varied selection of delicious brews ranges from creamy porters to expressive pale ales, and Yorkholo also offers local Pennsylvania wines and hard ciders for the non-beer-drinker.
The menu is partly sourced locally from the surrounding rolling mountains and farms of Northcentral Pennsylvania, and offers phenomenal choices for both the avowed carnivore and the vegetarian tired of iceberg lettuce.
Monday's Pizza night offers a new roster of gourmet pizzas each week, Tuesday evening sees Team Trivia, and Saturday marks half-price Wing Night.
In a rural tract like Tioga County, the bar for unexpectedly good beer, food, and atmosphere is set rather low-- but Yorkholo excels not only in the context of Tioga County, but as a Restaurant and Brewery in general. If you are passing through the area- and maybe even if you're not-- do yourself a favor...
