The Burger Barn — Restaurant in Manvel

The food was not worth the price, and I'm talking portion size. A chili burger, a small fries (like the happy meal size at McDonald's), and a 12 oz drink for $14? You would think the burger would be atleast 6 inches across. It was more like a Big Mac bun size. They also didn't make it to order. I didn't want onions and there were onions on my husband's burger, and didn't want pickles on my son's burger and I hear him say, "Why are there so many pickles on here?" I was disappointed paying $50 for a meal for 4 and getting what I got. I ordered the nachos as well and they were the saddest I've seen anywhere. They give you 6 fried corn tortillas cut in half, so they are not really chip sized to have as finger foods. We ended up breaking them into smaller pieces ourselves. Then the "cheese" for the nachos? Get this- kraft sliced American cheese. Like who does that? It wasn't even the canned cheese sauce that makes your mouth water. I had to melt it in my microwave and do you know how well american sliced cheese melts on nachos? It's disgusting. If you haven't ever used sliced cheese on nachos as a kid, consider yourself lucky because it's terrible. Not worth the $7. The enchilada meal portion was fantastic however the taste funny because of the seasoning they use for the ground beef. I was able to get past that, though. I would much have preferred Mr. Sombrero's flavor but I'm not a really picky eater. I was really hoping the chili burgers were going to wow us. Yeah, no.

Advice to Burger Barn? I would come here more frequently if you had better nachos and the portion sizes were bigger. This is a Texas style restaraunt, no? Let me know if any menu updates have been made and I'll come back and try you again. Also the wait was way too long. I ordered ahead and I still sat at the window for 15 to 20 minutes....

I am highly disappointed with the customer service at this establishment. I placed a phone order for two Lucy combos and a 6 piece garlic parm wing app. When I arrived at the restaurant, I figured my order would be ready so I decided to use the drive through option. It took about 15 minutes for someone to come to the window and service me and after my payment was taken it took about 35 minutes for someone to come back and tell me the status of my order! Finally an employee came back and told me to drive up to the safety cone and my order would be out without any apology or explanation of why it was taking so long to receive an order that was placed well in advance on the phone prior to pick up. After another 10 minutes of waiting at the safety cone for someone to bring my order, an employee non chalantly came out and gave me the INCORRECT order. I informed him and he nonchalantly went back into the restaurant to get me the rest of the items that I had paid for. Also there was a total of three cars behind me all of which were agitated because it was taking me a total of 45 minutes to get an order that was placed well in advanced. One vehicle eventually drove off because of the long wait. I understand it takes time to prepare fresh food but this was a ridiculous wait time for two burger combos and 6 wings. The restaurant wasn’t even busy because I arrived around 11:10 am and didn’t leave until almost 12pm! This was my first and last time visiting this establishment. The burgers were mediocre, flavorless, and the patties were over cooked. The wings were ok but huge and hormone injected . The onion rings were the highlight but still not worth almost an hour wait. Every time we go to Burger Barn we order the same thing : 2 1/2 pound Cheese Burgers all the way add Bacon xtra lettuce ! 2 Large Fries and a Large Onion Rings! I paid $35.00 and they serve me a little 1/3 pound Bacon Cheddar Burger that costs $7.99 ! I am paying $7.19 plus $1.99 per burger yes $9.18 for a half pound bacon cheese burger! and they serve me a small burger which the bacon cheddar burger has tiny pieces of bacon nuts strips of bacon and cheddar cheese not American I did not order a bacon cheddar burger I ordered a half pound cheeseburger with American cheese add bacon extra lettuce all the way how hard is it! When I tell the guy in charge he doesn’t want to make my order correctly which was what I expected and paid for instead the guy wants to throw an extra 1/3 pound patty on my burger I did not wanna double meat I did not order a double meat I ordered a half pound cheeseburger add bacon extra lettuce that is what I expected to receive I paid $35 for this order why can’t I have my order me the way I want it .
