We are new to the area so we were looking for a nice place to go for a good satisfying meal. I wasn't sure I was in the mood for either Mexican cuisine or BBQ. But let me tell you, this place is honestly amazing. It has the best salsa I have ever had in my life. It wasn't like your typical restaurant style salsa, usually very watery with lots of chunks that are hard to keep on a chip. It was thicker, it would coat the part of the chip you dipped in it and it seemed like it may have been really finely chopped ingredients. I got a very large burrito that was absolutely amazing. it was packed with beans and rice and ground beef (the meat I chose to have in it). They had a bunch of meats from chorizo, to beef and chicken, to brisket. My wife got the chicken enchilada and for once the chicken in it was not dry or tasteless, it seemed very much like they may have had BBQ chicken in it and it was completely awesome. We split a piece of tres leches cake and it was amazing. If I'm not mistaken the whipped cream was made in house as well judging by the consistency. It definitely didn't seem like out of a can. If it was bought by them, it must be the bougiest whipped cream on the market, it was really good..
The service was very good, there was only one waitress (we were there around 2pm) but she attended to our every need flawlessly. Our food was quick to come and the place had a nice little charm. There was seating outside which may have been nice, but it was very hot today so we sat inside. The inside temperature was very cool, I loved it. I would say that it may have been cool enough to bring a sweatshirt if someone gets cold easily, which is a reason it earns a star right there. I like it cool and even my wife found it a perfect temperature inside probably due to fact it was hot out today.
The prices are fair and they run a full gamut of foods and prices. Some things were as you would expect. I got a quesadilla for a starter and it ran about $9, which is what you would pay anywhere for quesadilla. They had a 3 lbs burrito which would run you $32 and full rack of ribs would run you about $30, which is on the surface expensive, but a good price for that much food by anyone's standards. I got like a jumbo burrito which ran about $17 but boy was I stuffed when we were done.
Go there, you won't regret it. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. It may change on my next visit, but it's going to be hard to live up to such a good first visit no...
Read moreHeard so much about this place, that I finally decided to make a trip out since I was craving BBQ. As a preset, I have traveled the country and experienced BBQ from all over so I'm making this review in comparison to what I have experienced so far from y travels.
First, as you enter, you can see how small the place is. Not much seating, which isn't a problem, but the decor itself bland. No greeting area, you walk right into the dining area. I was greeted warmly as I walked in and was seated within a few minutes of walking. Large plain tables at least give you a lot of dinning space if you are a party of 2 to 4.
Service overall was mediocre. While Friendly, Towards the start of service we were barley visited. When dinner arrived, we did get more attention. The staff was at least friendly and our food came out in a timely manner.
Now for the food, get ready to spend anywhere from 20-30 dollars easily for dinner. You do get A LOT of food for the price, which is pretty savvy. However the meat itself left much taste to be desired. Between my Fiance and I we had the opportunity to try their Wet Spare, Wet Baby Back and glazed Beef Ribs (their special for the night.). The Beef ribs were a bit bland. You could taste the glaze, but the meat it self had no flavor to it. The Spare Ribs were over cooked (You could taste too much char on the skin) and the Baby Backs were very dry. Again both were rather bland. I threw a bit of hot sauce on each to get some spice and taste to it, which did help to enhance the flavor, but it was disappointing I had to come to that point.
I took the Corn Bread and Rice and Beans side. Rice and beans were pretty good, but the Corn Bread had a very dry and stale taste to it. Some people enjoy this, but I prefer a more moist corn bread.
Over all, it was a decent experience. I did get a lot of food for my money, but it could have been better. I have been to Ribs shacks in the south which look nicer to eat at, but it wasn't a dump. Parking was difficult (come early if you want to find any). I can see myself coming back with friends who are starving, but not often. Wouldn't come to impress anyone, just...
Read moreUpdate - Went in on a rainy Monday night. It was very quiet, and you would assume staff would be miserable because quiet means less income. NOT THE CASE we were greeted by the sweetest server. My husband is a talker and he always asks our servers how long they have worked somewhere and if they like their job. Typically they will look at him nervously like why are you asking me this 😂 We have never had such a positive response from a server. Danielle explained she had only been there a couple months and when asked how she liked it she said “I love it! It's like family, they treat me like their family and I love working here!” The weather was dreary, it was a slow night and yet she had a bright shiny personality! Our entire dining experience was wonderful, her attention to detail was top notch. Danielle heard the sound of silverware hitting the floor and brought a new set to our son before he could even finish sitting back down after picking it up.
Original review: Stopped by on a fluke for dinner before a movie and we were blown away. Everything we tried was amazing. They were busy on a Tuesday early dinner 5:20ish but they are very efficient and the staff was friendly serving with a smile. Full bar with...
