Oceancrat The Boiling Seafood — Restaurant in Maple Shade Township

10/11/2019 My fiancé and I were looking forward to having some good seafood instead of the normal buffet scene.

NEVER AGAIN will we step into this restaurant. The start was on a good note with the service having detail and attention quickly. Ordered onion rings which was the best part of the meal, downhill from there. Then we ordered some buffalo wings which tasted like frozen Tyson wings with their own sauce which made it a double whammi of disappointment.

Our main course arrived and that was the last time we saw our server until she brought the check, no check ups during the meal for any needs we may have liked to have had addressed, ( like refill of water ). The grade of napkins were like using wet toilet paper. We ordered (1) pound of sausage with our snow crab and shrimp, we received only around 1/4 of a pound of sausage beside the snow crab being severely overpriced for what we received. The seasoning way overpowering any chance of tasting the seafood besides having to scrape the over abundance of seasoning off your meal that resembles caked on flour.

We waited 10 minutes after receiving the bill with no return of our server, up to the cash register we go with the surprise of our server waiting there for us. What SHOCKED me next is something I never would have ever expected in my life, after filling out the CC receipt and signing it, you normally receive a thank you, please come again, instead my server who cashed me out says what about the tip using her pen pointing at the Zero I filled in on the restaurants copy as she says, or is it on the table. This caught me off guard and I said yes as I left the building bewildered, meeting up with my fiancé outside and telling her what just happened with her suggestion would have been to say yes it was on the table but not now.

After reading some of the other reviews and their experiences, I can almost guarantee that our server was probably this “ Mei “. I’m glad that I only left a less then 10% tip, poor service, bad tip, my local buffet will be my choice from now on, much better...

Food was great. That’s why I am giving it 3 stars. When it comes to customer service, they need help. I Went here recently and waited 5 minutes on a server to get a second order of food. Waved my hand, the bar tender and the bust table’s lady were talking and never paid attention to the people at the tables. The server kept going to the back, finally came and took my order after waiting 5 minutes later. When it was time to pay, the bust table’s lady said to me, “oh you didn’t get charged a tip so your not going to give us a tip? Why no tip?” I said excuse me, what did you ask me? Did you just ask me for more money after I paid $159.45 and waited 5 minutes to order a second round. The server did not say her name, and it was only 5 families so they were not busy because all parties were eating. I waited 5 minutes to make another order nor did the server come back to check on my table? I knew it was 5 minutes of waiting because I looked at watch and timed how long it would take someone to notice that I want a second order. So I had a friend I knew that stayed there at another table and she said the lady was mad that I did not tip her and they talked about me. How did my friend know that I did not tip? You speak in another language but little did they know that she knew what they were saying. I wish I could say what they said about me, but I rather leave this comment. So unprofessional! That’s why I say customer service means a lot when it comes to great food. You can have great food and horrible customer service. !!!!!!MUST READ!!!!!!!! Went to this place with my family to satisfy our craving for good delicious Seafood. Food was amazing but SEVERELY OVERPRICED. Expect to pay $35 for 1lb of king crab!!!!! Our rice never came out and in the beginning we explained to the waitress that our checks were separate. She comes out with everything on one check and it was $207 which made no sense. There was a ''SERVICE CHARGE'' fee of $35 and when we asked what is that she stated it was for party's of 5 or more. THERE WERE ONLY 4 ADULTS AND 1 TODDLER!!! We told her that we wanted the checks separate (2 checks) and when she bought them out my check was 133 and my sisters was 101.????? Doesn't even add up. She added service charges to both of our checks. ($34 on mine, $25 on my sisters). I was furious. When we gave her our card she came back with the receipt for us to sign and the ''SERVICE CHARGE'' was in the tip spot. She was trying to get over on us!! I confronted her and she tried to over talk me and then was trying to cover her tracks and said it was the tip which we never authorized and gave us a refund. Her name is Mei. Update Per the response!!!!!!!!!! They are lying about the 18 percent tip added in clearly I stated that I only had a party of 4 adults and one baby. so don't lie. Not necessary. And the waitress ADMITTED that she lied about the service charge and it being the tip that she forged on our receipts and like i said she told us it was for a party of 5 or more!!!!
