I’m also reporting this to WAWA headquarters. I went to WAWA on rt 73 ( #2920 NJ -73 Maple Shade NJ 08052) to get gas in my motorcycle today and I went through a terrible, horrible experience and am very disappointed with what I went through. There is a worker ( name is Ian) who was putting gasoline in another car when I pulled up. He knew that I was waiting for a long time, but he completely ignored me. When another car came in, he quickly went over and started pumping their gas. When I complained, he said that putting gasoline in the motorcycle is self service and full service for cars is priority to him, and that is WAWA’s policy. What the hell is this? Can someone tell me What the hell he is talking about?.. is that true??? He said he worked there for 4 and 1/2years, and it was always this way. He never turned the pump on for me to even begin pumping myself. Self-service without turning the machine on? So I complained again and he yelled at me rudely , "Push the green button!" and actually started ranting to the driver of the other car about me! Another employee, Roy, came over and was very apologetic and tried to help. He pumped the gas for me. He told me “the next time you come here, I will serve you.”
I went into the store to talk to a manager. I approached her as she was arranging a display and another cashier rudely shouted at me to “come here” as if I was bothering the manager. I’ve never experienced this kind of treatment before at any Wawa in my life. I felt I was being racially discriminated against by Ian because I am Asian. Manager eventually called him in to discuss the matter but all he did was cop an attitude and make excuses, claiming it was always the policy. The employees here are rude and disrespectful. Manager tried her best to fix the problem, and Roy was very nice, but I have serious problems with Him and the other cashier. It’s not Manager’s fault they acted this way but it is her responsibility to make sure her staff is properly trained.
This location needs to completely retrain their staff about Motorcycle customers are also not self-service, they are still full service and must be attended to in the same manner and also retrain their staffs racial...
Read moreI’m at the point where I have to review this store so I received a gift card from corporate because the last time they messed my order up the supposed manager dan called me him and wouldn’t give me a specific time they could remake my order which was just bizarre to say you can do but say I can’t come in now but to come in later now tonight when I go in to use the gift card the girl who I later learned was the manager scanned my phone several times aggressively to show me essentially she was unable to scan the phone threw the crack in my phone instead of communicating it which was just embarrassing and I worked retail before so I know you just have to enter the bar code but I just asked to speak to the mags to get a refund for the card so I didn’t have to deal with that again and it turns out she’s a manager she doesn’t even know how to work the tefister and on top of that when I had checked out she told me she hopes I have a good night with a smug look on her face and clearly disingenuous I would have rather went to self check out . Read moreI had the unpleasant luck of being helped by a lady named cindi, not just once or twice but multiple trips to the store. Everytime i visit this location i have to wait in line for 20 minutes while cindi finishes her non pg conversation with the person in front. Then when its finally my turn i hand her my ID for tobacco which is already out and ready for her to scan (me being 26 im used to being carded) she takes it and eyes it up and asks for my birthday no harm done, just doing your job. The next visit same thing happened except when i saw her squint at my ID so i said my birthday knowing thats wjat she will ask. She proceeds to tell me i look nothing like my ID and looked at me with a disgusting face for a solid minute before i just grabbed my ID and left uncomfortable. My mother had to go in and cindi proceeds to tell my mom i was rude and mean to her and to make it worse started talking bad about me to the customer behind her. Very very unprofessional.
