Been here a few times over the years Certainly the best visit yet. We live in far North Austin and come out for the scenic drive, great brewery (Save the World), and good food with atmosphere and view (River City).

Service was amazing. No issues getting a table and being served. Food was the best yet!

My wife had the Pork Chop with Green Beans and Mashed Potatoes. The pork was very tender and juicy. I was surprised actually. Had so many dry or semi-dry chops in my day that having a perfectly cooked bone in chop was surprising. Green Beans were decent and the Mashed Potatoes were pretty good. Overall I'd give the Chops at 6 out of 5, the Beans a 3 out of 5 and the potatoes a 3.5 out of 5.

My daughter has a Bacon Burger and she said it was good. Was cooked probably well done if not slightly less. Fries were decent.

My son had the Fried Catfish and he loved it. 6 out of 5.

I had something not on the menu. A Fried Chicken Sandwich. It was perfect. 6 out of 5 for sure.

They serve Save the World Weit Beer on tap. Delicious.

Great visit and great day in Marble Falls.

Happy Standard Time!

Additional Comments:

We opted for a river view outdoor/patio table. There was a short wait (advertised as 15 minutes but was less than 10). This was Sunday mid-afternoon (between lunch and dinner). I was happy to wait at the bar. By the time I had beverages for the family and a cold glass of Save the World Witbier, the table was ready. We sat at a 4 top facing the river. The sun was starting to get lower in the sky so half of us were in shade and the other in full sun. They had shades they could lower but that would obscure the view so we opted for the sun, the breeze, and the view.

We ordered the Chips and Salsa as an appetizer. The chips were crispy and the queso was literally top 3 I've ever had...anywhere! Usually you get some version of ball park cheese with salsa bits added so my expectations are always fairly low but I was absolutely shocked to discover theirs was super tasty. They make it from scratch with real cheese...I know I'm talking crazy now but you'd be surprised how often you can get something from a can or powered mix. And if the establishment does make it from scratch, it's usually weird or spicy. This one was perfecto...6 out of 5 again!

On the other end of the spectrum was the salsa. Here I generally expect to get something tasty but theirs tasted like tomato sauce with some salsa bits added for texture. Again, home made but either the batch or the recipe needs a little tweaking. If I were a huge salsa fan and really wanted some then I would have been disappointed but since my target was the queso I really...

Disappointing Experience at River City Grill

My husband and I recently had an unfortunate experience at River City Grill. While the hosts were welcoming, we were disappointed by the quality of the food and the inattentive service provided by the waitstaff.

To begin with, we ordered lemonade which turned out to be terrible. It lacked freshness and had an unpleasant taste. Additionally, the cups that were served to us had stains from hard water, which was unappetizing. Furthermore, we were not provided with straws, which made the drinking experience inconvenient.

Moving on to the food, we ordered fried calamari, but it did not taste like calamari at all. The texture and flavor were off, and it did not meet our expectations. We also decided to try the hamburger, but unfortunately, the meat was overcooked, resulting in a dry and unpalatable patty.

Moreover, I specifically requested sweet potatoes as a side dish, but the waitress brought me fries instead. These fries were excessively dry and lacked the expected flavor and moisture of sweet potatoes. When I inquired about the sweet potatoes, the waitress said she would check with the kitchen. However, I waited for a frustrating 20 minutes, and my sweet potatoes never arrived. At that point, I requested my bill and proceeded to pay.

To my disappointment, when I informed the waitress that I was still waiting for my sweet potatoes, she did not offer any apology for the poor service. Instead, she brought me the cold sweet potatoes in a to-go box, further highlighting the lack of attention and care.

Considering the reputation of River City Grill, we had higher expectations for both the food and the service. Unfortunately, the experience fell short in multiple aspects. The subpar food quality, inattentive service, and lack of customer care left us feeling dissatisfied.

In conclusion, while the hosts were pleasant, the overall experience at River City Grill was disappointing. The lackluster food quality, inattentive service, and disregard for customer satisfaction marred our dining experience. We hope that the management takes this feedback constructively and makes the necessary improvements to provide a better dining experience for their customers...

Well when I first came in I felt as if everything was suspicious whenever i first entered the building. Like i knew that there was something wrong with this place. I did like what i ordered, "Paul's Chicken." I liked the sweet potato fries, but the fresh broccoli it wasn't fresh!! I'm like what the heck? I'm just saying you need to fix your kitchen, you need to fix how you cook!! And yet you serve something in the broccoli that has something white in it! The broccoli should've looked fresh, but yall didnt live up to the freshness. Also when i entered the restauraunt everything looks so depressing, so old, freshen up, put some modern items into it, the black walls make that better! The bathrooms look depressing too, maybe some color and make the lighting a lot brighter. Also with the bathrooms make the floor look modern. Put some color cause no wonder why everything looks like it comes from the great depression. I don't want yalls sympathy, all I want is for you to fix up your kitchen, fix up your building, and the things you put into peoples plates. I wont be coming up to this place anytime soon, otherwise go ahead and go bankrupt.

More comments: I also thought that the menus were too simple. Like i wish for something more variable, like I feel as if theres nothing unique that makes me want to even eat anything over here. Like on the menu whenever i came in I was like, sandwhich, burgers, and then fish, chicken, or salad. I dont see any individuality between all of these categories and the meals they have within them. i just wish that the menu could be more unique and have meals that actually taste good and emals that catch the...

We were driving through Marble Falls with our family on Sunday and stopped at River City Grille for lunch. It was a weird cold and blustery April day, so we ate inside, but the location is great! Right on the water with a great view of the Colorado River. It was very busy for lunch, but we were seated with only a minor wait. Our server, Cliff, was very good, but he was also very busy with a lot of other tables, and it was very slow to get our food out to our table (we almost thought they had forgotten about us!). We ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich, Mushroom Swiss Burger, CB’s Buffalo Chicken Tacos, and a Grilled Chicken Kid’s meal with macaroni and cheese. The pulled pork was very good, with a small amount of cole slaw and a tangy BBQ sauce on the side. They were a little skimpy on the cole slaw (see the photo), but overall, a good sandwich. The burger was a large patty and well put together making for a very good burger, that wasn’t overcooked. The buffalo chicken tacos were okay, good flavor but the chicken was tough. I wouldn’t get it again. The French fries were okay. The kids didn’t really care for their grilled chicken because it was dry, but they really liked the macaroni and cheese. Location, location, location…. River City Grille has a great location. Our server was great, but the kitchen service was very slow. There’s a wide variety of dishes to choose from and overall, the food was good. We’ll be back when we’re down this way, and I recommend that you give them a try.
