I bought 2 large deep dish pizzas for my very hungry friends and family's dinner. Well, talk about an embarrassing let down. Everyone of us went to bed hungry. I've eaten pizza from many locations around the country. I have had some very delicious pizzas and some not so wonderful. These 2 pizzas were by far the worst, the nastiest and the most inedible foods of any sort I've ever eaten. My wife stated that the dough tasted strange, like it was very old and moldy. The, "pizza" appeared to be created by taking old left over thick dinner rolls from dinners gone bye and placing them together on a pizza pan. The pizza "chef", then using some old failed family recipe, spread a teaspoon of tomato sauce across the large pizza with a squeegee. He or she then threw some dry, tasteless cheese sparingly on top along with what they supposedly call pepperoni, followed by a few pieces of juice less pineapple. I would have to assume Joey's Pizza stays in business by praying on the many unassuming tourists that turnover frequently on Marco Island. Visiting from Chicago, I would have to say, leave the deep dish pizza 🍕business to the real pizza professionals who know what they are doing. Don't waste my hard earned money, time and appetite.

Joey’s is the greatest experience in Marco Island I have ever had the luxury to partake in. The fact that Joey’s does not have a mile long line, is a testament to the lackluster taste of anyone else. I had the Chicken Parmesan Pizza and was surprised at the delicious simplicity of the meal, I would equate eating it to that of a battle between flavor and tongue. I also had the opportunity to try the Caesar Salad, the Ginoche, and to top it off a deceptively simple chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream on top. All of these meals were organic, tasty, and fresh without exception. We ate before closing, but that did not stagger the performance of the servers, or the quality of the food. Our server was spry on his feet and emanated positive energy over everyone in the table. When we left we had the fortune of witnessing the servers and what I suspect to be the owner all laughing together akin to a real family. I look forward to the next time we visit, cause I will certainly urge my family to eat at Joey’s once more.

First time at Joey’s and we ordered a large combo and large white pizza with spinach for pick up. Total was about $60 which blew us away. The most we’ve ever paid for a pizza so we’re expecting top tier pie. It smelled delicious. We get home and after trying the pizza, we realize instead of a combo we were given a sausage pizza with no sauce. (We did get the correct white pizza). Called to advise it was the wrong order and they offered to refund or come back to get the right pizza. (We opted for a refund) The pizza itself was so thin it was like they ran out of dough and were trying to make more pizzas than they could handle. The cheese was dry (on the sausage pizza). The crust was so hard/crispy, it was like you reheat old pizza 3 times and it’s too hard to chew. (I LOVE a crispy pizza but not hard.) I typically prefer personal pan pizza or like a standard crust you’d get from papa John’s. Nobody in my party liked thin crust so maybe that’s why we didn’t love it?

We honestly had an amazing experience here. The food was great and huge portions! The server was pretty good too but he didn’t really know the menu when we asked questions but he was busy so it was okay. My son was acting up at the table and I gave him plethora of warnings that if he didn’t stop I was going to take him outside for a spanking. He continued so I took him outside and started to talk to him. While I was talking to him he was still upset and swung his hands up and hit me in the face. That’s when I had the last straw and I spanked him. Then I sat him in the chair for 4 minutes and until he calmed down. I talked to him, I asked him why he was in time out and he told me, said he was sorry for hitting me. I told him the deal was to stand up, push the chair back in, and go back inside and finish his slice of pizza without whining o crying. He listened and did what I asked. When we sat down the manager of the restaurant ( I don’t remember his name because I was so overwhelmed and overstimulated with my son but I wish I did bc he was nice and kind) came up to us and introduce himself and told me “I just wanted to inform you that an anonymous customer saw how you handled your kids at dinner and thought you did an amazing job and picked up you’re entire bill for you. They don’t want us to tell you who it was but they just admired how you handled everything and picked up your bill.” I was literally fighting back the tears to tell him please let them know how grateful we are because that was the LAST thing I would ever expect.

Those kinda things never happen to me let alone us. And that was definitely a hefty bill to pick up considering there was 5 of us, plus our apps, and our drinks and all. But the fact that the food, the environment, and also the clientele obviously of the restaurant was just overall top noch and such a great experience that I know me and my family will never forget. So I will always remember this place and always recommend. And if the anonymous customer ever sees this review please just know I and my entire family is so so deeply grateful and appreciate for your generous action. 🙏🙏 thank you to you, the staff and the...

My husband and I went to Joey's Pizza and Pasta House last night for our 9 year Anniversary dinner and I was so upset with our visit. I NEVER complain or do reviews but I feel I have to this time. We got to the restaurant and it was packed! (Around 7pm) The restaurant smelled amazing, I was excited, which didn't last long.. They seated us in the back corner of the restaurant next to the restoom, which was so dark you could barely see the menu. The waiter (who didn't tell me his name) was so overwhelmed, he kept rushing us placing our order. As we were looking at the menu I asked, do you have any specials? I told him it was our first time dining here. He stated he had no idea of the special because he was late for the meeting today. He could ask, which he did. "Shrimp and corn" is what he told us. That didn't sound appetizing. The waiter seemed annoyed with our questions and was just trying to rush us..Finally I just asked him for the bill and we would just go somewhere else .. not once but twice. No bill.. I then asked for a manager several times because I was beyond upset with the service.. no please stay he stated after he repeatedlykept touching my husband and I on the shoulders... I figured ok we will try the food I ordered chicken fettuccine alfredo my husband ordered the build your own calzone. We asked how big the calzone was, he didn't respond. I was trying to order he kept looking around the restaurant and not even paying attention to us. As I was placing the order he wasn't even looking in our direction.. Food came, the calzone my husband really enjoyed (portion size is HUGE could feed 2 people) my alfredo not so much. The Alfredo sauce was broken (seperated) =( soo disappointed I would never go here again or...

I know every place can have an off night now and again, but while the food was very good - the rest of our experience was lacking.

We were sat outside near the live musician, who (considering we were immediately next to his amp) was pretty good, but a bit loud for us. We then watched as theee of the five tables in out section were, vacated, cleared, re-sat, greeted, placed and recieved their drink orders before anyone had even spoken to us, with one table already eating their salad course. (This table cleared out before our main courses arrived.)

After alerting the hostess and the servicer in our areas who was diligently attending to the aforementioned "other" tables in our section, we finally got to meet our server. She was lovely and attentive, but some parts of our order came out wrong (my Celiac wife went to great lengths to make sure no bread was present on her salad plate... guess what?), they were out of usual items like crumbled blue cheese, and we got a flimsy excuse that they could not possibly put the 3.5 inch chunk of burrata cheese on her 10-12 inch gluten-free crust.

The manager did come by (again at our request) to fix the gluten/bread issue with the salad but was certainly in a hurry to move on from our table without asking how our experience had been overall (maybe because we would have taken the time to tell him?)

We were politely irritated at points and very happy with the food overall, but as it was the favorite of our Marco Island resident-hosts who literally sat us there within our first hour of setting foot on the island, we were...
